Yeah. Her and her blood bending was so...Creepy. -shivers-

They could change it up a bit though. But, to be honest, it would make more sense if only the non-mages get the boost.

Generally if the PvP weather is fixed for a match or something, then this is a horrible idea. Otherwise I can see a lot of potential coming from weather. Perhaps people can cooperate in parties while the weather affords long sequences of benefits, but those benefits only affect certain class members.

Oh yeah, I should also mention that Gunbound has weather, is PvP, and is an MMO. It's a great strategy/shooter game, and the tactics revolving around weather can help make or break your team.

Hm, well, Gunbound is an MMO, but it's not an RPG (the point that it's PvP is meaningless because it's pretty much defined in the fact that it's a strategy game), it's not continuous, and the weather changes constantly and is simply part of the gameplay strategy. Everyone's aware that it exists and should anticipate it and deal with it accordingly. Scrub players will peach about the wind changing all the time, or a random mirror appearing in front of them, but they have all the power to deal with the weather, they just have to pay attention. The weather's impact on the gameplay is about just as much as the shape of the stage or the items you can use. It's not entirely fair, but it's an interesting mechanic, can generally be dealt with, and doesn't break gameplay.

Whereas in MapleStory, you're playing in a continuous world. How could weather changes be implemented fairly? Things like time zones, the types of elemental skills people have, and the available maps to train on are all issues that would need to be consider. And how would weather be dealt with when it impacts your class negatively? Say there's a map effect that adds 20% damage to all fire attacks and subtracts 20% from all ice. If you're an I/L AM, what do you do (assuming this would affect your training/bossing speed)? There's not much you can do except say pineapple it and wait until the effect changes in your favor. I don't really see what strategy this mechanic would lend the game other than who you choose to party with.
