Now I'm wondering why people break the continuity of their skills by putting a nonskill (Such as guild, ability, buddy) directly in the middle of their skills, or in one case, lined it up so it cut the skills into two sides.

Why would you do that? What if you accidentally hit the nonskill while reaching for a skill? Wouldn't it be annoying having it pop up?

Uh, I have Guild in the middle of my keyboard on "G", and it doesn't affect me much. Even with a NL, which has low HP, I can control it fine even with 'G' set as 'Guild'. If you're really comfortable and memorized your own config quite well, you shouldn't accidentally tap an unwanted key during training/bossing. I rarely tap 'guild' by accident, like once out of 100+ boss battles.

I personally moved all the shortcuts to windows and stuff away from my skills. I got used pretty fast to opening guild with "." and buddy on ","

Warriors don't get many usable skills compared to other classes =x of the 8 along the bottom row I can only use 2 in training..
If I took off everything I don't use, I'd be left with PG, Booster, Divine, Rush and ACB. :x

Am I the only one with jump on Y? Mmmmprobably.

One macro is a joke macro for Sharp Eyes ("green shiet" as one APQ party member begged me for once), and SE/MW for when I'm the party buffer. I kind of need to clean it up sometime. Frown

Yea, most people have this since it seems the most logical to do.
I'm asking for those who have otherwise.

But, wouldn't it be even more efficient to move it out of the g button to an entirely different place? That way when you do tap G, there's no effect (but after all you trained yourself into thinking that was a dead key).

Here's mine.

If it looks like my buttons make absolutely no sense, it's because they don't. I play using a controller, so I just end up sticking crap on random unused keys and then assigning those keys a button that makes sense on my controller.

Because they don't clash with anything I do? I can't think of one time I hit something wrong. Regardless, the things I have near my skills wouldn't even matter if accidentally hit.

The only time my settings ever gave me trouble was a long time ago when I used 5, 6, 7 and 8 all for different pots. There was a time or two where I hit the wrong pot, which led to death. I mainly just use my auto and space bar for potting now, though.

I play with everything in the bottom left corner. I wouldn't be able to use skills higher than the bottom. Things that support me, like summons, buffs and pots are all higher because they are used far less often. My layout lets me solo Pap one-handed, as well.

Having barely any skills flooding my keyboard makes me kind of happy on being a mage. Tongue

Also, I can't see how people can play in the middle of their keyboards. o.o

For me, no. I use 'G' as a divider as well. That's because if had too many buffs and pots side-by-side, I'd most likely get annoyed and frustrated.
