Masteria Through Time - Blockbuster impressions - SaptaZapta - 2016-03-17 Stop derailing the thread. You want to start a new "maplestory is dead since BB" thread, go right ahead. But leave this one alone. Masteria Through Time - Blockbuster impressions - Pikamemnon - 2016-03-17 SaptaZapta Wrote:Stop derailing the thread. I think that subject has already received enough coverage. Rob made a personal comment and I gave him a response, my original post was straight on topic. i.e. I think the blockbuster itself is good so far. Rob made a personal comment at me and I gave him a response, my original post was straight on topic. i.e. I think the blockbuster itself is good so far. Your original post was not on-topic. It had 3 words about the blockbuster, and a whole essay about the sad state of post-BB Maple, plus the ridiculous claim that you'd been refraining from mentioning said sad state, a claim Rob felt the need to refute. Stop it. Masteria Through Time - Blockbuster impressions - Pikamemnon - 2016-03-17 Are we reading the same thread? I thought it was put here to get different impressions about the content be they good or bad. If I misinterpreted something than I apologize. I will try to be more careful about what I talk about. Masteria Through Time - Blockbuster impressions - Marksman Bryan - 2016-03-17 I think what bothered me the most, even more than the clunky transitions, was the inconsistency with naricain's name. If they don't care enough to fix something like that, it just shows how little effort they put into the rest of it. I would more chalk that up to NexonKR making the actual blockbuster and then the translation team being dumb. Masteria Through Time - Blockbuster impressions - Tay - 2016-03-17 Makes me sad to see that this new Masteria content was very disappointing. Is there any hope for the future acts, or whatever they are called? Masteria Through Time - Blockbuster impressions - fodjgngf - 2016-03-17 New boss in act 4 Naricain/Naricaine/Naricane or they'll just re-release CWKPQ? Masteria Through Time - Blockbuster impressions - Ironical - 2016-03-17 fodjgngf Wrote:New boss in act 4 Naricain/Naricaine/Naricane or they'll just re-release CWKPQ? Every blockbuster had a main villain bossfight at the end so far, I believe we will do the same. There also were high-lvl epilogue areas such as Scrapyard of Fallen World Tree, so it's entirely possible cwkpq will be that kind of area for us. Masteria Through Time - Blockbuster impressions - Auguro - 2016-03-17 ![]() I liked it and the exp wasn't bad. The Cut-scenes could have been more fluid though in the transitions, and I had trouble seeing where I was going due to resolution restrictions. (Mine doesn't go as high as the recommended for the MTT). I will play through more when available though, I am intrigued by the story. (=

As was said previously, even though it does not have as much longevity as I would like and contains an assortment of errors, a Masteria update is still a Masteria update. Maplestory can be compared to a sinking ship but if the crew works hard enough it is a possibility that the ship can be kept afloat indefinitely. I don't like everything about it but I see the blockbuster as a net positive. Masteria Through Time - Blockbuster impressions - fodjgngf - 2016-03-17 I think the worst part of this is the reused animations and the mobs that have i-frames. Also why is it a level 202 mob in this blockbuster gives out 3.5k exp and can't be one shotted with 15m total damage yet when I train at kritias on level 200 mobs I one shot them and they give 50k exp. Yeah, even the BGMs are recycled in spots - my fiancee commented that the "Lukan's Memories" part used El Nath BGMs (although I wasn't paying much attention at that part), and I definitely noticed some Magatia BGMs in there as well. Also, I like how "exp based on level" for 'stage clear' is the same 5.7whatever million for my Lv159, 201, and 214 characters that I've done it on. They should consider changing the EXP description to EXP based on your level until 140 or whatever level it stops increasing at. Oh also all the typos and bizarre wording of things in dialogues should get fixed or go through another edit. To their credit, Black Heaven mobs during the blockbuster aren't that much better. Going to call you out on this sapta, his original post was on topic, the bolded parts were the only non topic parts in his post Pikamemnon Wrote:I should really stop trying to shield this game from itself and just be happy to let whatever happens to Maplestory happen but before that, I still want to say something about the Masteria blockbuster. He made an extended metaphor with the boat from the beginning, so parts concerning the boat are not off topic as they are about masteria. Masteria Through Time - Blockbuster impressions - SaptaZapta - 2016-03-18 The "boat" is maplestory as a whole, not Masteria, and so the entire "extended metaphore" is off-topic. The only part that was on-topic was this: Pikamemnon Wrote:To rephrase that, I am a big fan of Masteria lore and the spelling derps do not bother me. The content looks nice but I prefer having quest chains like this in small pieces and in separate quests. Since it was done in theme dungeon style, the replayabillity factor gets hit hard, like there is none (at least for me) and this is one of my favorite regions! So instead of an entire area that can be re used for different characters in multiple ways, the blockbuster does not give us that. I will not even touch how other parts of the game indirectly lower the value of some of the rewards down to almost nothing. One on-topic paragraph, 4 off-topic ones, 1 off-topic image. And even the last line of the one paragraph is misleading because the only rewards for the blockbuster itself are honor exp and a medal (which has good stats). Masteria Through Time - Blockbuster impressions - xparasite9 - 2016-03-21 I think it was a funny self-deprecation that Foxwit's memory device was rife with all sorts of bugs (literally manifest as "bugs") causing all sorts of torment, and that "this thing's still in beta" maybe I'm reading too much in to it. Marksman Bryan Wrote:I think what bothered me the most, even more than the clunky transitions, was the inconsistency with naricain's name. I think it might be significant rather than an inconsistency. Could be wrong Masteria Through Time - Blockbuster impressions - Grey - 2016-03-21 xparasite9 Wrote:I think it might be significant rather than an inconsistency. Could be wrong I think kthxbainao said on Reddit that it was definitely supposed to be Naricain. But that could just be a mislead. Looking too much into it. Anyway, I just really hate all the retcons, I thought that I'd at least be okay with that, because then they can just focus on their new story, but I'm not. There was already quite a bit of established lore behind the characters, and I hate the way they've been set up now. Naricain and Subani as brothers, Christopher Crimsonheart as their father, Lukan as a grandmaster, Lireni, who single handedly led the mission to infiltrate CWK as a coward, them being from Versal. The way it's set up, I expect the new CWK to have bosses which are actually the ones from the Blockbuster somehow. I'm so unsatisfied by this, even more so than I thought I'd be. If they were going to deviate so much from the lore, they might as well have just created new content, it's like Justin said, basically fanfiction. I'm actually really hoping that the next two acts will just be like, the previous acts were some kind of weird alternate story or fabrication that isn't actually canon, and then we delve into the real story that resolves the stuff from the old canon.
