Too bad I'll never be able to reach that without outside buffs/potions QQ Would be nice if I at least had Hero's Will. v.168 - Reboot Update Preview - danielcatu - 2015-11-23 dear nexon, please updat this year happyville shop, we don't live of nostalgia scarves v.168 - Reboot Update Preview - Spadow - 2015-11-23 Arrol Wrote:Oh, my apologies. Time to finally return to GMS from KMS. :3 While I do agree with others that Reboot probably should've happened a few years ago for it to have maximum impact on the game's health and population... Reboot in KMS jumped to the #3-4 most popular server and it has stayed there for the past half a year. To put that in perspective, no server released after 2008 on KMS has made its way into the top 5 without being merged. If nothing else, it will be interesting to see how the population turns out in the GMS version. v.168 - Reboot Update Preview - Gymleaders - 2015-11-24 Haiku Wrote:Tee hee. Time to finally return to GMS from KMS. :3 It's almost as if MapleStory has become too easy, and people prefer a more harder version that isn't pay2win... We've only been telling Nexon for years! v.168 - Reboot Update Preview - SaptaZapta - 2015-11-24 Spadow Wrote: Watching the character loot those meso bags manually made my pinky hurt. I really hope Reboot has NX-less ways to get a pet (after the Snail and Puffram expire), or I won't play it. Other than that, it looks interesting. I liked the no-trade thing with Pink Bean class. Was very liberating to just NPC everything I can't use, instead of keeping it "for future characters" or "to sell". So I could definitely do that again. As for the harder monsters... we'll see about that
v.168 - Reboot Update Preview - Grey - 2015-11-24 I also have several concerns about Reboot. 1. NX Clothing. In KMS, all the CS clothes are permanent, and Reboot is no exception. We don't have that, and while I like having NX clothes, and ever since they sold perma NX for twice the cost of 90 day equips, I have a strong preference not to buy 90 day clothing. Without trading, and presumably without Surprise Style boxes (along with all the cubes and stuff, there's also no random reward cash items in KMS Reboot), I hope that we can have perma NX in the cash shop, and not just through sale packages. 2. Additional Options. Our lack of additional options, or bonus stats, would make it so there is basically no variation in equipment other than potentials (and I guess, stars if you can't afford all of them), which I find incredibly boring. But I guess the fact that that means you can use any old version of the equip you find and that it kinda levels the playing field between everyone is a huge positive. On the other hand, we won't quite be as strong as someone from KMS Reboot, so I don't know if we could possibly tackle the bosses they can. We also have nebulites but who knows how common they'll be in Reboot, and how anyone might get better nebs, or if we even have them at all. 3. Marvel Codes. I really, really hope they remembered to disable these on Reboot somehow. Outside of those three, there's also, the quality of life updates later on which I think are pretty necessary (like increasing the NPC value of crafting materials since it is incredibly difficult to craft some things when you can't trade for the items you need) and I hope we get them straight out of the gate. This is going to be incredibly different from KMS Reboot, even if we don't have exactly the same specs for the world itself. We have more areas and more equipment options and I hope they take a lot of care in adapting all the things we have that KMS doesn't and I hope they put a lot of thought into our version of Reboot. This is definitely something where they should get input from the players. Hell, I'd go as far as to say that a Tespia round should be in order. v.168 - Reboot Update Preview - SaptaZapta - 2015-11-24 Grey Wrote:This is going to be incredibly different from KMS Reboot, even if we don't have exactly the same specs for the world itself. Hopefully they at least let the MLC test this stuff, since Tespia didn't happen. Even if they did, I expect issues. We not only have areas they don't, we have entire classes they don't, mechanisms they don't (familiars, nebulites, marvel, etc). Even if nothing is outright buggy, balance issues may arise (as you correctly pointed out with the additional options). We'll see, I guess. v.168 - Reboot Update Preview - Shads - 2015-11-24 Haiku Wrote:Tee hee. Time to finally return to GMS from KMS. :3 Good, maybe I can finally get some more room and weed out some of the "OLD MAPLE WAS SO GREAT" players I keep passing by on the way to the FM. v.168 - Reboot Update Preview - Marksman Bryan - 2015-11-24 SaptaZapta Wrote:Hopefully they at least let the MLC test this stuff, since Tespia didn't happen. They did not. I'm coming back for reboot, but I can only assume I'll get bored around the same time as everyone else (2-3 weeks). v.168 - Reboot Update Preview - byakugan - 2015-11-24 Spadow Wrote:There is a Bishop who leveled up to 230 in the Reboot world in 60 days. ... What the pineapple is the point of reboot world then? I thought this was "bringing maplestory back to its roots" where levels actually mattered, but if getting levels is merely a bit harder than in the regular worlds then does that mean anyone that seeks to stand out has to aim for maximun damage yet again?. Why move out of the main servers at all? v.168 - Reboot Update Preview - Grey - 2015-11-24 byakugan Wrote:... The point of Reboot is that you don't have to spend any real money on anything that isn't cosmetic, a promise that was discarded years ago. From my experience, leveling in Reboot isn't that much harder than starting on a regular world without any equips or link skills (but I only got to like 103, but that took about a week, if I recall, not nearly as long as it used to take me, but slightly slower than it does now, if I don't go all out). The game isn't that much different, it's just a bit easier to spend time rather than money to get cubes and stuff that makes you stronger. v.168 - Reboot Update Preview - PirateIzzy - 2015-11-24 TheBlackMage Wrote:Nah, KoCs can link the skill to each other now Yeah I know, but even then I'll be at 90%. Also stupid considering I have to give up 2 links because of the stupid 12 link limit (for Kinesis and CKs). The logical thing to do would be just to make our own link give more resistance. v.168 - Reboot Update Preview - byakugan - 2015-11-24 Grey Wrote:The point of Reboot is that you don't have to spend any real money on anything that isn't cosmetic, a promise that was discarded years ago. I might be the only one, but I actually wanted leveling in reboot to be hard, maybe on the level of pre big bang. I wanted levels to matter, to see someone lvl 150 and be like "wow must have worked really hard" or "there goes a pro". If levels don't really matter much even in reboot, then all that there is to seek out in this new server is higher damage, and thats exactly how it already is in any other regular server except you have the easy way out of NX in those. That is a good thing I know, but for those that already do that like me seems there is nothing to look for in this server, I guess Reboot is the server I should have been playing all along.... far too late. Is it possible to world transfer to Reboot in KMS? v.168 - Reboot Update Preview - Grey - 2015-11-24 byakugan Wrote:Is it possible to world transfer to Reboot in KMS? No, you can't transfer into Reboot, everyone who wants to play in Reboot has to start fresh. v.168 - Reboot Update Preview - dowie - 2015-11-24 too late for this, but I suppose it'll attract those that were hyped for it for a couple weeks |
