It wasn't *terrible* but it was a bit too much in terms of the fetishization.
The background dancers were the only things that really stood out to me as horrendous. They didn't even look like they wanted to be a part of it.

judging by the 8 seconds i watched, i agree, avril seemed REALLY into it however. i'll have to give this a chance later on, but i still think she went a bit overboard on the style change.

At first I couldn't look directly at the video without cringing, But at some point I just became inmune to it and could appreciate the little parts that can be appreciated like the fact Avril is still so beautiful.
The song is bad for the most part (pineappleing dubstep) but I don't understand whats all the crying about, specially about she saying kawaii and arigatto minasan which means thanks everybody, this song is obviously aimed mainly to the Japanase which Khaini claims they already love.

The dancers attitude seemed intended to me. There's one part she is taking pictures and showing it to them and they are as inanimated as during the whole video.

Every other j-pop/k-pop video I've seen has either the background dancers just as engaged as the lead, or at least matching the energetic tone of the song.
