Customer Support Rules Updated - Gymleaders - 2014-02-25

Obviously that's true, but this is them just letting us know. It's part of their plan to be more "transparent". I'm not saying just blindly support and agree with them, but at least be a little appreciative when they make posts saying stuff like this.

DavyJonesx; Mazz; I think it was just a very, very bad example.

they let us know last year, and the year before that, and so on. nothing has changed, so either they're lying through their teeth, or even worse, can't even manage to do what they say.

Idk I don't remember them ever trying this hard. I actually think a lot has changed. I've played MapleStory since August of 2005, and customer support is a lot different now. There's a live chat now, there's huge compensations for getting hacked, and a handful of other good things. Anyone who thinks they haven't changed are probably cynics, to say the least.

Now do I think they've made a full 180, no. But they've definitely improved a little.

i don't see why the time you joined matters, for that matter i started playing at beginnings of 2006 so i don't see the point. you can get hacked, there's dupes, and there's a myriad of other things, and their customer support still sucks massively and is for the most part automated. i'm not saying they haven't changed, i'm saying that the improvement is minimal and negligible.

i stopped seeing what they could do, right now i see what they did and what they're doing, and they're doing the same as the last three years, which is... nothing really a small improvement here, a duping incident there, yeup, the same thing.

Idk, you said nothing changed in your original post, not that the change is negligible. I was arguing that there is change, but I never argued that their customer service is good, but better.

Additionally, time joined does matter, because customer support changes over time, and that's the whole basis of the argument, you know? Also, it's entirely possible to play this game without ever getting hacked. A majority of the population hasn't been hacked, and a majority of the people who do get hacked are hacked due to social hacking (I.E giving someone they trust their info). Nexon used to not do anything about this, but now they will give you a hefty sum of maple points to assist you in possibly putting you back on your feet.

It's hard to change a game when it's designed around Korean's interests in a whole different market... But they're definitely trying, at least from my perspective.

However, I think the game is way too far gone for me to have any long term interest in it now.

that's just nitpicking though, of course there is change, there's always change, you don't act the same way you did a year ago, obviously things change. saying that nexon didn't change meant that whatever they've done isn't worth considering a change, whoo they can write nice apology and promise letters now.

and i'll just quote southperry for that join date thing: "more old nostalgic farts per capita than any other maple fansite" we don't even need to go as far as when the game began you know. a 1-year period is usually good enough to measure imrpovement, and in maple's case, there's none or close to none, whatever wording you prefer

going on:
Quote:a majority of the people who do get hacked are hacked due to social hacking

those are dumbasses and i'm not taking them in account, you said majority, i'm not talking about them, i'm talking about the "minority" (which is quite large mind you) that truly did get hacked. or that database leak that we had in... what, 2010? thanks to the NX trade system whose name i already forgot. there's also those who abuse the very thing you mentioned about social hacking you know? quite easy if you know a few people in other regions/continents, then again by the time you get an answer...

i'm not arguing about the game being P2W (it is) my point is that the game fails to protect itself from hackers (at least in this thread that's my point, it fails to be truly F2P and on and on and on and the list is long)

to put it simply, if you made a chronological chart of all of nexon's promises, and big hacking incidents and their duration... you'd have one very depressing chronological chart.

ApplePond Wrote:Way to flush this notice people. Tongue

Like others have said, Nexon has made these promises to improve before, so we'll believe it when we see it.
When they clear the record of players lag autobanned years ago so that they are once again eligible for some events, then I might believe.
When they start replying to lag autoban tickets with something like 'Our apologies for the undeserved autoban, here have 5k Nx' instead of something like 'OK, Hacker, we'll give you just one more chance', then I might believe.

Customer Support Rules Updated - SaptaZapta - 2014-02-26

I don't see any revised banning guidelines at the link provided. It's just a list of possible ban durations, and a long list of offenses (mostly described in one word). Are all of these offenses the same severity? When do the different ban durations get handed out? Where are these transparent guidelines?

(Yes, I know we should all avoid all these offenses, but we already knew that from reading the ToS. This notice was supposed to tell us something new.)

And, as others before me have said, regarding the promise for more careful investigations and more GM presence and so on - I'll believe it when I see it.

Customer Support Rules Updated - Words - 2014-02-26

I don't understand. People already know hacker related issues won't change and why it won't change. Believing or even hoping that Nexon does something is nonsense. Negligible improvement or little improvement doesn't even change things, I don't understand why anyone would make a big deal out of it. The big changes that the game needs won't happen, the game will keep on sucking and it's up to everyone to chose if they deal with it or not. Deluding yourself that everything is or will be fine is madness.

Someone who was banned years ago for hacking empress JUST had their account released via livechat.

not surprised in the slightest, I just find it f'ucking hilarious it happened RIGHT after this notice ahaha

I guess he'll probably be let off seeing as this is an isolated incident and no other players are being harmed.
Guy could have easily just resold the same item a bunch of times to himself to make it look like it's duped.

Regardless, there's still a private dupe going around (when is there not, though..).
