Survey - Declaimed - 2013-02-23 koplje Wrote:I'd be interested in this. JQs always were pretty nostalgic for me and we really haven't seen one since CWK. That makes no sense. Why would you want to optimize the game for a television resolution? 1366x768 is one of the most, if not the most prevelant screen resolution on the market today. It recently overtook 1024x768 recently, and I strongly suspect that the bump up to 1024x768 in the first place was more of a business decision than an act of kindness. This is a PC game, for Windows. The vast majority of Windows laptops use 1366x768. Even netbooks use that resolution now for crying out loud. If you're on a desktop, your resolution likely far exceeds 1280x720. Quote:I like the little resolution But of course. You could still have your window mode, it would just be downscaled to be 800x600 from a singular native resolution and filtered to improve image quality. The game is fragmented by its balance between 800x600 and 1024x768, and I'd like to see that go away. Survey - Stereo - 2013-02-23 Maple's pretty thoroughly designed with the almighty pixel in mind, if you resize it, no matter what filter you use, you will never improve image quality. I know that laptops and netbooks use 1366x768, in fact that's the reason I'm questioning you. I don't see why nexon should just opt to support netbook/laptop resolution, and this is coming from a main laptop user myself. Supporting 1280x720 would just be the easier solution as it works for both laptop and desktop PC's. Honestly if they do get to 1280x720 they should just stop there before each map becomes a small picture surrounded by darkness. I said what I did because I believe that 1366x768 is the minimum resolution that either device should be displaying. Survey - Rinax - 2013-02-23 Bossing in the game ...is something I can't do. Survey - 案山子 - 2013-02-23 Stereo Wrote:Hey, I like the little resolution. Fits in next to my browser so I can see both at once. You can SEE anything in 800x600?! Maple looks more like a popup in 800x600. Survey - Zerard - 2013-02-23 案山子 Wrote:You can SEE anything in 800x600?! Might be that I use a larger monitor though. Survey - Zerard - 2013-02-23 案山子 Wrote:What I'm implying is that in my experience it's hard to see the microscopic text in the game. Might be that I use a larger monitor though. Probably. Because I don't experience that problem on my own. Survey - BadFormula - 2013-02-23 I honestly don't care for new classes/revamps and bosses. Rather than just throwing out new classes every few weeks, maybe MapleStory should start focusing on becoming more of a social game. What makes a game fun to me is being able to interact with others. They could start by doing something about guilds. Maybe more cooperative pqs? I'm just getting sick and tired of new content that "force" a player to spend x amount of time so he can get an extra buff or do more damage etc. etc. Maybe I'm the only one who still plays because of guild/friends and everyone just cares about damage now a days. But anyway, I just felt like saying something since they did not even bother to mention anything about it in the survey. Survey - koplje - 2013-02-23 案山子 Wrote:You can SEE anything in 800x600?! Well we did 3 years ago . Most maps are still designed for 800x600 anyways, the only exception are bossing maps like cygnus and von leon.
Survey - fodjgngf - 2013-02-23 Jeeee... It's like every single thread they've had in their forums... "Nerf aliens+Jesters" "Theres nothing to do" "Stop with new classes" but its in a survey! I kinda imagine they want to find the proper direction to go in now, especially since they have lost again on the 2012 financial report. Survey - 777 - 2013-02-23 the new content question made me angry too but i thought high lvled bosses (180+) will bring high lvl content too since every boss have its own prequests and new area of self Survey - Combattente - 2013-02-23 Quote:I live in Los Angeles area

Survey - AltCtrlDlt - 2013-02-23 Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't patches planned out months in advance? I'm under the assumption this survey won't do much good in the short term. Would it be fair to say that we might start seeing the impact of the survey come summer, or later? Well you didn't exactly set them a stunning example... ![]() AltCtrlDlt Wrote:Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't patches planned out months in advance? I'm under the assumption this survey won't do much good in the short term. Probably not until next year at best, this is just an attempt to gauge their direction, any true course changes will be dependent on the results of this, the results of similar tests in other markets and a weighting over which one concerns them more and stands to earn them more. The best short term we can hope from this is to actually see the results, which I doubt we will, and/or get a confirmation afterwards about what plans they intend to take based on results, which I doubt even more. |
