Yeah. Honestly, I think a full role list may be required. Some of us have not seen any mafia before MasPan started it last week. I personally get the general concept, and did read up on some roles, but there's a lot of possibilities, so a role list for this game would be helpful.

A bus driver swaps things. The most common version is something like:
Player A targets Player C
Player B targets Player D
Bus driver targets Players A and B
Player A's ability now hits Player D
Player B's ability now hits Player C

There are an infinite number of possible roles, though there are some that are more common than others. A lot of them I only know about because of prior experience with them. There are plenty of "homebrew" roles that could have any number of combinations of abilities. The best thing is just to ask if you have a question. I never intended to confuse anyone.[/COLOR]

Agreed. I tried looking it up just now but I just do not know the exact concept of what a bus driver is supposed to be here.

I would sugges the wikis MafiaScum, EpicMafia, or MafiaWiki. They'll have lists of some of the more common roles out there. The host CAN'T tell everyone what roles are in any given game - giving players that much information ruins a lot of strategies and makes other strategies way too easy to pull off. Frankly, it ruins the game.

Yeah, not knowing the roles makes it REALLY hard and more interesting.
It gives room to mess ups, such as last game when I investigated someone who was obviously town, but it's also worth it.

Just to confirm, by bus driver did you mean a role or a strategy? It seems to be the latter and if it is that pretty much answers my question of what that's supposed to be.

At any point during the game feel free to PM me any question you have even if you think it is stupid. I know we have some new players in the game and I want to make sure they understand everything as clearly as possible.
However, as MasPan has said I will not reveal what roles are in this game because it simply reveals too much. Just like in the last game where some people said the townie:mafian ratio should be revealed, it is part of the game to try and figure these things out.
However, a fun part about being a host is giving out hints whether it is in result PM's or the flavor for the day/night.

The list MasPan gave me was very helpful. I thought of suggesting a thread on resources since we're lined up for more mafia games so that hosts don't give anything away, would that be a better alternative so that newbies don't get too lost and hosts do not compromise their game?

I would say so, so we have an idea at least maybe.
