Why bother farming the lv100 rod anyway? The Tempest one is better with the set. Also, pretty sure it comes epic on reveal.

GMS Luminous Discussion - hadriel - 2012-12-06

Because some might use the coins for books etc. so it is necessary to have a backup plan, no?

Will we receive Helsium by the end of Tempest? If so, I wonder if the cape and belt would appear in the Tempest shop. 233 coins each... ouch.

Since the three Use boxes all give Tempest coins (Santa, Ice Chest, Tempest), it's really not all that bad. Plus the Gale Gourd gives 2-4 coins, which adds up. I'm getting all tradeable equips on mules and using my main's coins for scrolls, most likely.

Except that the first job light skill does far better damage than the dark skill AND you can cast the light skill while jumping. I've already raised 4 Lumis to 3rd job and I can't possibly agree with you. So far, 2st job is all light. 2nd job is largely light, also, since you can jump cast Moonlight Spear. Void Pressure is neat and all, but you have to stand still to use it and it doesn't hit quite as rapidly as Spear. Third job is all Nox spear (dark). The downward range on it is HUGE. you can train two plats at a time on most maps with that skill. The light skill takes a little too long warm up, but it has its uses for sure. I find myself staying in Eclipse mode all the time in 3rd job, though.

GMS Luminous Discussion - MuscleWizard - 2012-12-06

I like void pressure for the stance effect while it's being cast.

I disagree for 3rd job. Spectral Light is ludicrously powerful due to the range and versatility in changing direction.

At MP3: Laser left and right once. Teleport up. Laser left once. Teleport up. Laser left and right once. Teleport down. Repeat for EXP gaining like no other.
At Aliens: Laser left and right once. Teleport up. Laser left and right once. Repeat for EXP gain at the speed of light. (Buh dum tsh!)

Aliens got even sillier the moment I got Reflection at level 100. It's like: point in general direction of an Alien. Click once. Receive EXP. I barely had to leave the top platform anymore.

Overall, I seriously am questioning how high the developers were when they made the class. I swear my damage is 3x-4x higher than the damage range implies, seeing my damage range is but about 11k at the moment, when the damage I dish out feels way more than that. I should NOT be dealing over 100k per Spectral Light at level 9x, which only got worse in 12x when I was dealing a good 200k-360k per attack at Crockies. Note, this damage was with pretty much clean gear, save for a 14 M. ATK earrings and a Mesoranger set. Add on top of their amazing mobility and interchangeable abilities, it's a very fun class.

GMS Luminous Discussion - MorbidMagus - 2012-12-06

Luminous is easily one of the most fun mages for me pre-4th, considering that it's pretty much spam 1 attack, use another every now and then, and call it good for all the others.
Unfortunately the manual change screwed that up, and though at first I forced myself to switch to keep things interesting, even I just said "pineapple it" and started spamming Spectral/Reflection from 60-120 at aliens.
I also noticed that the cool-down for switching between Sunfire and Eclipse is much longer than what it takes in KMS, and by extent, meaning we get Equilibrium much less often.

Little sad about the fact that you can't choose light/dark, and that using light/dark doesn't make them weaker, that was a core part of what made Luminous special in KMS. But Oh well, people will have their damage dealing mages and enjoy em.

One odd thing is people are saying not to max Magic Guard? I maxed it in 1st job and still never used a single potion.

You max everything in 1st job anyway...

SwordArtOnline Wrote:You max everything in 1st job anyway...

You’re missing the point. Luminous has a separate SP pool per job so you don’t have to spend the SP to advance. So people are suggesting to not add SP into the magic guard skill until you get to higher levels where it will be needed to save potion burn early on.

GMS Luminous Discussion - Forte - 2012-12-06

Yeah, I think I'm going to use Luminous as my main equipment/meso farming class. They're really strong with little to no meso use.

There should literally be no potion burn if you grab a familiar.

I haven't even used a potion at LHC yet, thanks to the healing HP per cast, and the fact that Luminous easily has more mana than any other Magician, (He had more MP than my 18x Archmage wearing Empress at level 93...)

Don't forget that Lumi will be nerfed, or at least Reflection's range will be nerfed a little if we follow KMS. For one, the angle that Spectral Light (what a terribly unscientific name) can rotate will be nerfed.

But Reflection is seriously zomg.

Also, yes the coins come easily from the boxes, but given that it takes AGES to open them all... sigh. As of now I have about 230 coins. Considering that I need to get books for some of my other chars, that's not alot. The full Tempest set needs a wtp amount of coins...

Has anyone yet figured out what that collection album does? Any brave soul?

Tempest events go until Feb 2nd.... that's a lot of time.

I'm playing till max end of this year, then it's studying time. That's alot of time for most, but not for me.

The range actually gets buffed.
OT : I dislike the change, even though most of the skills are stronger now. Nexon should just stick to copy paste next time.

didn't you just say you were at 200+ coins after just a day? :f6:

You have plenty of time I'm certain.

GMS Luminous Discussion - Satellite - 2012-12-06

I only trained to lvl70 for linkskill, which from lvl40 onwards was only at Twisted Jesters (and therefore I don't have much experiance about this) but over there Pressure Void and Moonlight Spear were way better than light skills to me simply because of the range/hitbox. Turning Spectral light is kinda slow and clumsy, so I really see it as an flatmap-only.

And for some reason I loved using pressure void cause

GMS Luminous Discussion - Forte - 2012-12-06

I might be doing it wrong but I aggro with moonlight spear and then use Spectral Light to kill everything.

Wait the range gets buffed?? Vertical or horizontal or monster-to-monster bounce range?

200 coins takes an enormous amount of time on my Lumi - with poor eating habits. Maybe it'd be faster once I hit 4th job... but looting is so slow!

Granted I don't mean for you to be getting 200+ coins every day, but even going at half that rate with rought 25 days of play time available this month (minus holidays, personal schedule and such let's say 19-20) going just 100 coins a day should get you there.
