The Alchemist - Tykian - 2008-12-26

silverquiver Wrote:I like the idea, I might even use this with the stats tweaked a bit but I will give all credit to you. A skill that could partner with this might be something called Mining that would increase the drop rate of ores.

I'd actually though about that, but when I did, I was thinking more of a 5-10 SP skill that passively increases the job chances over ores. Giving it 10 SP max would look something like:

Level 1: 2% better chance slain monsters will drop ores.
Level 10: 20% better chance slain monsters will drop ores.

Of course ores would still be limited to the monsters drop table.

That sounds really good, I'll update later tonight or tomorrow with some of this information.

The Alchemist - silverquiver - 2008-12-29

Just updated again. Added two new skills including Armor Coat and another called Alchemist based off of the 3rd job skill for Hermits which I have turned into a party buff. Also I changed the look of Holy Blast because I wasn't satisfied with how much it looked like a side-ways Genesis.
Enjoy~!

Is Armor Coat a buff, and how long does it last?

Yes it is a buff and I decided to make it a lot like Iron Body so it has +40 weapon def. added and lasts 300 seconds at max.

What if they broke the mold and-
Had class gloves as their primary "weapon/stat adder" and common class equips as their secondary?
I dunno how good or bad that would affect them but if INT was primary and Matt was too- then they would not be too bad off.
....
Maybe include more elements to all jobs-
Like the holy blast or an upgraded poison move for 2nd/3rd job.
...
Also I'd argue for a new system of Accuracy that was based solely on LUK that way statless builds would be really tough.Glitter

To be honest I didn't want to go too out of the ordinary. I wanted to keep this class as realistic as possible. (seeing as most other made up classes have ridiculous skills with ridiculous stats)
And I'll definetely be adding more elemental moves. I'm working on a few Homunculus moves at the moment (having trouble with the skill icons, any help would be much appreciated... I need something that looks like explosions of ice, fire, and electricity) but I'll look into more poison and holy based skills.

Judging from your signature, you have impeccable skills in pixel art and I don't know why you need my help. Cool Nonetheless I would be happy to help.

The Alchemist - silverquiver - 2009-01-27

Added 4 new skills. Three of which are skills that can be used when in the Homunculus state. The other is a second job skill that can increase the chance that ores will drop from any monster.

Lol, this skill sounds kinda dumb, but I wanna post it anyways! If you do like it, then hooray! Cool
If you don't, then oh well! Always more ideas to brainstorm for. Biggrin
Well, here goes!

For 3rd of 4th Job Use (Your choice Biggrin): Metal Shifter
Effect: Turns any ore of a mineral or jewel directly into mesos.

Level 1: Shifts up to 1 ore at a time; Mesos gained: 50% of NPC sale price; 30% Success rate

Level 10: Shifts up to 4 ores at a time; Mesos gained: 125% of NPC sale price; 60% Success rate

Level 20: Shifts up to 7 ores at a time; Mesos gained: 200% of NPC sale price; 90% Success rate

Hope you enjoy it! If not, oh well! I'll try harder next time. Later, person! Cool

Then wouldn't you be better off NPCing it anyway? That's guarenteed, after all. :/

The Alchemist - Kigaz - 2009-01-27

Alchemists would be great besides the fact you have to use ores/minerals, so I've got an idea: instead of having to use steel ores, etc; there should be like "ore pots": ores you can buy at pot shops.

I like the idea. But because alchemists need ores more often than not, what if this skill was backwards? They can turn mesos into ores!
Might be pretty interesting.

Hmmm... that could work. Sort of like adding something that is like a summoning rock or magic rock. An item to support skills.
I'll think about it though I might not use the exact idea.

Keep giving me ideas, if I like it enough I'll post it up in the next update and give you credit!

I might seem like an ass for bumping this, but I'm doing it for great justice!
