Ouch.
Yeah a lot of my classmates were terrified that our Geology major would be cut as well. We're losing 2/5 of our professors this year--one had already planned retirement last year and the other did it spontaneously. Interest in the major hasn't been that great, and our class sizes beyond the sophomore level have traditionally been 6~12 students. I think the minimum class size required by the University is 15. They started forcing the department to restrict some of the smaller classes to be offered once, every other year, a few years back. These are core classes required to graduate with the major--you have to work your whole schedule around those classes, and they're science classes with long labs, so it's hard. It's kept a lot of students there much longer than they should have been. The classes that haven't been restricted have been relocated outside of the department into completely different buildings because other classes with higher enrollment get priority over the Geology lab rooms. I'm very surprised they're actually searching for a new professor and they didn't just tell us to pineapple off. :|

Lol, my mom was watching the 700 club and Scott Walker is going to be interviewed by Pat Robertson. Looks like he is trying to curry favor with the evangelicals. He won't get any sympathy from me, at least.

Sure, if your only criteria for said conclusion is pure black-and-white race results. But there were lots of other aspects of this recall, such as getting to the election itself, that have lasting effects in inspiring future efforts elsewhere and the whatnot.

Funny how a 2% gain in Louisiana isn't statistically relevant, but a < 1% loss in WI is.
Odd that none of those other negatives show up in the first map, either.

Because even a ~0.8% loss equates to tens of thousands of jobs lost, under a governor who ran a platform claiming job creation was their top priority. Clearly he had more pressing concerns he didn't share with the public right off the bat.
Also, the maps are different. March 2011 - March 2012 in the first, April 2011 - April 2012 in the second. Your map is also seasonally adjusted and focuses on nonfarm employment specifically, as opposed to employment in general. And lord knows Wisconsin is a farming state.

You're reading a non-existant argument into my reply and making a rebuttalhole of yourself by trying to challenge it.
All I said is I prefer the chart that explains it's criteria and has actual numbers, and pointed out the differences between them.
They're both by the exact same organization. All either one really highlights is that neither is a full/true/accurate picture of the entire situation with everything accounted for.
