Monster Familiar System Update - SaptaZapta - 2011-11-12

I don't think it's a matter of money this time.
It's a matter of keeping us committed and occupied.
If I finally got the familiar I want, I'll want to use it as much as possible before it expires. So I'm not going to skip any possible mapling time in the next 30 days. Right?
Also, if you could just hunt for an hour or 30 and get the familiar you want and that's it, you might run out of things to do in the game. Having to repeat this task every month gives you something to do.

Of course they neglected the disincentive, as evidenced by the "it's not worth bothering with" sentiment expressed here.

Looking around me in Kradia I see a lot of people with familiars, and not just snails and mushrooms. Right now people find amusement in getting them, even though they're time-limited. We'll have to see how long it lasts.

I don't have a problem with farming every 30 days IF it was only about an hour for rare/legend familiars. As I said, 1 hime card WITH Big Cloud Fox on for increased mush shrine droprate took 21 hours...that's just silly for 30 day timelimit, that's quite literally a 1/30 ratio for time spent getting:time actually active, which is beyond useless to me, since I'm already a "burst" player, if I play 20 hours in a day I won't play again for a week, usually.

Monster Familiar System Update - Sarah - 2011-11-12

Hearing 1 Hime card took 21 hours makes me so happy. Just need the cards to be permanent and I'll start collecting again.

21 hours is a little over the top, but yea, if they make them permanent I'll be all over it.

Monster Familiar System Update - Zenkat - 2011-11-12

I nabbed 2 Lycan cards in less than 2 hours. I then spent 2 hours in werewolves and got nothing. On the bright side (related to expiring), at least they are tradable. Don't have to hunt, really. Can just buy from FM. And vice versa (sell for great profit in FM).

WHAT? They're sellable? That's ridiculous.

Monster Familiar System Update - Takebacker - 2011-11-12

Well not after you use them, but yeah. Just don't click on the card and you can sell it.

Whats more ridiculous is the price. theres no point in buying high level mobs in FM, dont worry.

Yeah, someone bought my 2nd lycan card for 100m. I might have been able to get more.

I saw a sold Advanced Knight E sellfor 500m. Its nuts.
I spent 5 hours @ MDT. Nothing. And lycan? 3 hours and nothing.
I can tell you i spent my whole 2 days on MS looking for them an left w/ low level mobs & a blue dragon turtle. Any high level mobs? I was left empty handed

Makes me think I should start hunting daily again.

Since bosses like the Prime Minister of Mushie Castle have a card, I think tradability is an awesome feature. Of course that is if they ever become permanent, as it is now i would not even pay 10 mesos for a card.

>16 castellans on 4x drop and none
I've been hunting limited access bosses as much as possible and will be stocking all familiars on mules until they make it permanent.
Also, with NLC mobs dropping familiars, maybe the Grandmasters will have familiars (if and when CWKPQ comes back)

I wouldn't mind this shi'tty droprate if they were perma. Hell, if they were perma, make droprate worse.

That would be my preference, as well. That way, only the truly dedicated would get their hands on them. Not thrilled about tradeable, but I'm making a killing off of them at the moment so I can't complain too much.

Maybe make Legend untradeable? Or hell, do we even know if they are yet, does anyone even have one on gMS yet?

Castellan is stationary, no card there.

Then why in the book is there a familiar for it? And why is it in the extraction?
I would show you if i could LOG ON.

Ok, my bad then. I would have double checked it, but I can't log on either. Odd to have it walking around when it has no walking animation, but I guess the JMS peeps might have designed some additional pixels for it.

Some bosses have attacks instead of them following you, like Mu Gong, that makes you have that giant blue panda aura behind you while giving you a ridiculous boost for a short time.

he probably just tableflips his way into walking.

that said, i don't mind them being tradeable, allows people to actually get them in hack-infested servers where the only ones that can get the cards/kills are hackers... that said, brings the problem of you having to buy it from a hacker ~_~
