Windows 8 Discussion Thread - Eliul - 2011-09-18

Kind of a noob here, but I've actually been waiting for W8 ever since my friend started talking about it with the new metro UI and everything.

Can I keep all my files installing this (like maple and what not). I have stuff like Sony Vegas and what not and kinda don't wanna re-get it and everythingggggg.

Who knows if windows 8 will support them, anyone remember how hard was it for maple to get proper vista/7 support?

That's just the new default interface. It works a lot better for touch devices. You can still make it look like whatever you want it to look like.

Btw, I see a lot of aim towards touch screens... also for desktops... Tongue

IFA, Intel Developer Forum and Microsoft Build were full of them...

Why... just why...

I don't WANT to control my PC with a touch-screen, unless it's USEFULL like a tablet pc or a high-tech smartphone (and even then, Blackberry proves that an old keyboard is VERY usefull at a phone, even there...).

I don't WANT to clean my screen every 3 2 1 half hour because of all the finger smears...

Besides that, I just plain HATE reflective shiny screens for desktop monitors... I want a matte screen and not a free mirror where I can admire my good looks every minute (lol...).

Just... bleh... I really hope Microsoft does something for the more demanding Windows user, so they can install a non-noob Windows 8 by default (read: normal more professional interface).

That's the point...

People were heavily against mouse back when those were the new "Fad", Lookie now we cant live without mouses anymore.

Who Knows, maybe touch screens are the new "Fad"? (I swear, every company wants to put a touchscreen TO EVERY FU.CKING THING THEY MAKE)

I read somewhere that Windows 8 was projected to be the last line of Windows OS' before Microsoft Midori comes.
