Except they'd have to have content in order to do a patch. Your complaint is unreasonable. Maintenance takes as long as maintenance takes.
The more servers, the more worlds, the more people, the longer it will take. That's very basic reasoning.
Just be thankful it's not three different days of 12+ hour maintenances in the same week like Mabinogi had.

If I log BEFORE the manteinance, but I don't log after, will I still be able to get the 5k maple points? I get the feeling it will fail me.

Lol, I saw this as them being too lazy to come in at 2am. The problem with the day time maintenance is that by the time the community catches on to any problems, (usually 2-3 hrs after, minimum unless its huge) they've all gone home for the day high-fiving themselves for a good maintenance.
Not to be insensitive towards our Australian friends, as this clearly conveniences them, but I'm really not seeing how the time change could be benefiting us. As far as GM's being awake etc, who in the hardware/software industry isn't used to late hours?

Our alliance tried doing a czak run before logging off. It was going fine with czak only 1/1ing or seducing. Then it was at the 3rd body with 50% hp left where he decides to seduce us, 1/1 us, and then shoot us with lightning leaving 1 person alive(the one that didnt get seduced).
