There comes a point where something needs to die, and we've clearly passed it. I understand that MLP was created from some of the same people who also made some old childhood favorites of mine. I could also see why MLP would explode in popularity. The characters make goofy faces which are perfect for putting captions on and slapping on the internet.

HOWEVER

To slap these pictures in EVERY SINGLE GODDAMN THREAD ON THE ENTIRE GODDAMN FORUM gets a little aggravating. By a little, I mean A LOT. I have never seen such an overused meme/fad in my entire internet career.

MLP as a show doesn't create haters. The fanbase does.

For me, I just post ponies in any thread with a title related to ponies/1st post related to ponies. Out of that, I don't really post them, with the exception of certain members.

It's pretty much only the Funhouse that gets slapped with pics, in a thread where spam is allowed. Also, if it wasn't MLP pics it'd be OTHER image macro/animu/4chan reaction pics derailing a thread instead. I don't see how it's that much different whether a thread gets flooded with MLP image macros, or 4chan image macros. Besides, it was a Pony related thread to begin with when hovering over the preview text, so you can just leave the thread and ignore it; there was no one compelling you to enter it.

I only post MLP images in pony threads or when I'd post a macro/reaction image anyway. I don't go image dumping on extractions.
And the MLP craze is not even close to die down, expect it to calm down a bit on the break between the two seasons in about 2 weeks.
