D:D: Mathematical Analysis of Magicians and DoT Post-Jump - HybridStigmata - 2011-04-16 any opinions whether there'll be another part to this patch ? perhaps touching Battle Mages? No idea if BaMs are weaker or not anymore .. Mathematical Analysis of Magicians and DoT Post-Jump - Satellite - 2011-04-16 Basically Bishops are still a class that no1 plays? The only Bishops I can see being online, would be HS mules? Nexon, I am disappoint. @ above I agree, remove all resistance characters along with DB. Doesn't it work on your damage range and not your skill%? Either way, you could just stop refreshing every other DoT when Infinity is in action. If you look at it though, the difference is very minuscule at ~100%/s, and that's under perfect delay scenario. Most likely, server lag will prevent your cool downs from being optimal and DoT counting can be difficult, but it definitely gives a slight edge if done well. Poison Breath even adds ~40%/s overall since Extreme Magic raises its duration so much. ele weapons are applied somewhere after the skill range, so they don't affect DoT. Mathematical Analysis of Magicians and DoT Post-Jump - Shidoshi - 2011-04-16 With the way mist explosion scales I can see it reaching the damage cap very easily. From what I've seen on videos you get a 1.5 multiplier on its damage for every DoT more than 1 (on the video he uses PB, FD, mist and Paralyze). He does about 70k with each hit of paralyze => 70k/2.57 = 27237 He does about 700k with each hit of Mist Explosion => 700k/(9*1.5*1.5*1.5) = 23045 Seems to fit. Mathematical Analysis of Magicians and DoT Post-Jump - Connor - 2011-04-16 I've wanted to train a F/P for so long but never found the motivation for it, but this new information is appealing. F/P playstyle seems so much more interesting now, with how you have to cycle through your DoTs making sure they're always going, and now they have respectable damage too. Mathematical Analysis of Magicians and DoT Post-Jump - Green4Ever - 2011-04-16 With the post of that Pap video it makes me wonder if I would be able to take out Pap with 6 exploding mists near the end of infinity -totally wants to try it right now- ![]() 3 x 999999 x 6 = 18m... meh, guess it wouldn't be possible. sadface. It would be too broken if you could. Mathematical Analysis of Magicians and DoT Post-Jump - Green4Ever - 2011-04-16 Shidoshi Wrote:I don't think you can stack mists like that. If you can't you could still spread them out a little bit and still have them all within range Mathematical Analysis of Magicians and DoT Post-Jump - Shidoshi - 2011-04-16 Green4Ever Wrote:well if you stand in one spot and cast a bunch of them and watch the cloud you can tell when each one disappears, so I think you can. I know you can cast many on top of each other. I'm just saying that the explosion won't count that as several attacks. It's difficult to see the numbers on the left side of the screen, but when he hits the Mist Explosion where you see the 700ks, he was dispelled and had no MW, Med, Buff Mastery, and Arcane Ames. This is an interesting addition to Mist Explosion's already high strength, and just shames I/Ls even more. Also, he uses Poison Breath's DoT as well as all the aforementioned. Shame he doesn't use Big Bang too, but at his level, I doubt he has many points into it. Just rechecked the video, he gets dispelled right after casting Mist Explosion so it's his normal damage there. Mathematical Analysis of Magicians and DoT Post-Jump - JoeTang - 2011-04-16 Shidoshi Wrote:Did you consider that each DoT after the first gives another 1.5 multiplier on your calculations? I interpreted the skill as doing 1.5x damage if two or more DoTs were active, but I think the description can be interpreted as there being at least 2 and no more than 6 DoTs simultaneously providing this bonus of 50% more explosion damage (i.e. 1.5^4x more damage) . Seems quite broken. I'm going to wait for a little more information before amending this. Mathematical Analysis of Magicians and DoT Post-Jump - Shidoshi - 2011-04-18 http://youtu.be/vZBEEDDIx3k Another video, at the last monster he fights he uses 4 DoT skills and has all his buffs up when he releases the final Mist Explosion. Damage analysis: Paralyze max dmg: ~57k Mist Explosion max dmg: ~650k Paralyze: 57k/2.54 = 22k Mist Explosion: 650k/(9*1.5*1.5*1.5) = 21k I think that every additional DoT counts as another 1.5 multiplier. I guess we'll be need to increase the damage cap when we have a 3038% times 3 damage skill . Mathematical Analysis of Magicians and DoT Post-Jump - Takebacker - 2011-04-18 9114%? Mathematical Analysis of Magicians and DoT Post-Jump - JoeTang - 2011-04-18 With Fire Demon, Big Bang, Poison Mist, Poison Breath, and Paralyze, the overall DPS with Criticals and Elemental Amplification appears to be 4269.8%/s. 1.4x with Arcane Ames, and 1.2x with Extreme Magic gives 7173.3%/s. Even without teleport, it has a base of 3558.5%/s, and 5978.3%/s after AA and EM. It also has a 620%/s DoT. It's overpowered. 17223%x3 at maximum damage every 10 seconds? Yeah, that's a bit high, considering they can guarantee that will happen given the smallest window for DoT to run out is 20 seconds. In fact, if they had six DoTs that did irrelevant damage and Poison Mist cast every ten seconds, they would still be doing 5167%/s single target, albeit you're required to attack to keep up Arcane Ames, without it, Mist Eruption is still the strongest %/s skill in the game, even if you do nothing during the cool down which is scary. This is awesome, makes me feel proud for sticking to F/P, though I don't doubt the skill will be seeing a nerf in the next KMST patch. However, with how high the % for Mist Explosion goes we'll be seeing the damage cap really soon. Haven't seen it in any videos still, though. Mathematical Analysis of Magicians and DoT Post-Jump - JoeTang - 2011-04-18 The skill is basically Snipe on easy mode. |
