In GSA I showed this video, not on school grounds, and it was a hilarious time. A few kids bought shirts, but I never got around to it and they've gotten pomegranate from the APs about them anyways. :/

While I think this is an important message, it was kind of cut down by the unnecessary use of a 7 year old spewing profanities about a message she probably doesn't understand.

I think the point was they were still young kids and it's the what if factor. What if this girl became a lesbian and commits suicide? Society pegs most homosexuals as lady gaga/Chris crocker. Not really the best images. Though I understand your view, I just think they are tired of being put off as if they have no voice and they just wanna say "pineapple you" to the world. If the movement were more educational in nature i'd have a lot more to agree with. As is it's like a sloppy fighting fire with fire technique while being aware of where the root issue lies without really trying to deal with that. AKA this is someones paycheck and it's being put above the problem.

in any case, this will help her not h8 when she grows up because even though she was asked to use profanities, she is given a good message. if she turns out lesbian or not, she will know better not to h8.

The people who are against this aren't needing to be educated, that's the problem. It's rash, it's unorthodox, but it seems to be necessary. It's just how our generation is.

The people who insult people in a way that this movement is supposedly against are ignorant of the possible effects. Homosexuality isn't still shunned because there aren't enough fucking t-shirts promoting it. It's because people are afraid and insensitive towards of what they don't understand or see as somehow threating.
If you think t-shirts are a better correction for ignorance than education i don't even.
I don't see them as addressing an issue here as much as i see them selling a product. No one who is a bible thumping homophobe/gay hater is going to watch this video or see their product and suddenly have an epiphany.

Just because some individuals may be unwilling (or just plain unaware) to do something they aren't familiar with (read: just about EVERYONE) doesn't mean people should just toss a cause to the dogs and go, "welp might as well make light of this for profit, i'm sure those straighters will just die out eventually trolololol" It's not workable logic. Preaching to the choir is a really shitty way to champion a cause.
I don't have an issue with them making a buck with this, but i'd prefer it be seen for what it is.

I completely agree that education is the best way to make a point and get a view across. I just don't see people who are against it willing to be educated and have their opinions change. Once people are deeply rooted in an opinion (my religion is the best, for example), it takes a lot to get them to see it from another viewpoint, and even more to get them to accept that viewpoint as a possibility.
To be honest, I don't get WHY this is an issue - the only reason a man and woman NEED to be together is to continue the human race. Otherwise, if 2 people love each other, allow them to show it just as any other couple does. But hey, why expect common sense to exist?
