Pie is correct. I realized what you said afterwards so I decided to kill him anyway. I left the original day end up to show Brandon what would have happened if he had just calmed down.

Ah, I read it as "below is what would have happened" instead of "above"... That colon didn't help.

Carry on, nothing to see here. :<

Just got back.

Mas, saw you suicided. =/
Just going to say if you want to incorporate a rule about forcing someone to post, take a page from my game. Have the game cycles last more than 24 hours per day. Try to make the rules reflect the person has to provide a post that contributes to the game. Some will not like it, but I did it because it had to be done.

Actually, I'm beginning to hope we can slightly extend things. I'm hoping by the time I can bring up my next mafia game, days can be extended to 2 real life days per in game day, but that'd require more posting.

Yeah, and a bunch of other pomegranate happened because of how the suiciding worked out. Think I'm going to include a rule for how suiciding should be handled too - give players a way to back out without causing issues. l

I apologize to anyone who felt the game became unfun as a result of my frustrations at not being allowed to suicide - I wasn't trying to disrupt the game or ruin the fun or anything like that. I simply wanted to back out and wasn't being allowed to, so I kept pushing Dual until I forced him to do modkill me.

It might just be me but I think it's against the spirit of the game to back out when backed into a corner. What I do when death is inevitable is usually accept it, vote for myself, and ask the host if I can be let in on the info so I can watch the game from a clearer POV since I know what actually goes on. Usually if the host trusts you it becomes a very fun experience to watch knowing roles. Part of why I like hosting, to see what people do. I would love to co host a future game, writing a few roles and watching the game. Maybe Matt can let me do that for his next game.

What I was thinking of.
Next game I wanted to host would be sorta like that. 48 hours for a day, 24 for a night; 12-14 players max, with 2-3 subsituters; players participating must post something relevant to the game if that's only just a vote.

To me suiciding simply represents the last choice you have in the game - it's the same thing as voting for yourself, in essence. In flavor, it's tantamount to your character putting a gun to their head and saying "NO MORE!" before blowing their brains out. For me, it was (at least intended to be, at first) my way of saying "Ok, I'll die, but not by your hands damnit." When surrounded on all sides with naught but a single bullet, what else is one to do?

Of course I'd allow it, but I'd make balancing edits, as well as barring you from playing, which would lower the amount of players that exist.

Tiki Lounge - Holypie - 2010-12-24

Of course I'd be barred from playing, that's what I meant by co host =P. And to Mas, take one of them to hell with you. Or be like Matt and watch a 16k crit headshot sail through all of them.

pierce booster aaaaaa

And I follow under the rule that you can choose to suicide flavorwise by requesting it from me, in which case if you do die, that's what happens. I just want to avoid modkills.

I was trying to - I misunderstood how modkills work, and was thinking E6 would've died alongside me (even if I couldn't "win") because of vote counts.

Holypie Wrote:Quite interesting indeed, I wonder what triggered this?

Just speculation, but I think that Dual may have planned this - today's format is a slight variation of the Kingmaker style of mafia. He may have wanted to throw in a couple of days like this just to change things up from the normal day pattern. I like it, to be honest, if this was your intention all along, guy. Well played.

Tiki Lounge - Holypie - 2010-12-26

Yeah, I thought that too, about the Kingmaker.
