Wasn't there something posted here awhile ago about with the Resistance the people of Edelstein asked the Cygnus Knights for help which they agreed, but when it came down to it the C.K. were nowhere to be found and the resistance got stomped, thus making them think the C.K. betrayed them? Then there was another thing hinting that the Cygnus Knights wanted to help the resistance but something came up that nearly wiped them out and they had to focus on their own survival first? Can't remember where it was, but I'm sure I've seen it. Would explain things.

probably the "old Black Mage convinces them by doing little "right things" that are meant to help society, but are actually wrong, and thus their knowledge of good & bad as broken"

I think it's more like the Black Magician's "dark aura" corrupted the Empress. After all, if even the mighty Zakum and Horned Tail succumbed to his powers, what more could frail little Cygnus do?

I.. can't believe this...
I trusted Cygnus.. how could she.. let me train my Cygnus character, saying that it'd have been to protect the Maple World from the Black Mage? I even took it to level 120..
I vowed that I'd have never made a character which represented the evil part. But.. Cygnus tricked me into doing it!
On a serious note, gotta love the plot twist. I wonder how they'll explain our fighting against the Black Wings members (and the Black Witch at level 120) all the time.

Apparently, according to a friend, there's an event quest going on now that has Lilin (Aran's BFF), Sulhee (Dual Blade), Nineheart (Cygnus) and Sigmund (Resistance) saying that they are starting to become suspicious and that they can't trust Empress Cygnus anymore.

No I think it's more like the Empress has dark ulterior motives under the guise of the greater good.
