Copyright covers books, maps, dramatic works, paintings, photographs, sound recordings, motion pictures and computer programs.
Scope is relevant.

If that were true designer imposter handbags, suits, perfumes and whatnot would all be illegal, which they're not.
Unless you actually violate the trademark of an automobile you could in recreate the exact design of one. There's just absolutely no reason to do.

I didn't know they had copyright on cars. Maybe on the name/slogans/etc, but not on the car itself.
I wasn't aware Europe's anti-piracy laws were soooo successful. Wait...they're not? (Must because they were made in failEurope?).
