Maybe related but, If you make your lv 30 dual blade then you would be abple to skip double stab and use triple stab right away, thus having more sp for other skills.
Edit: nvm triple stab requires 10 double stab.

so if we don't buy any NX or trade for it in any way, we won't be able to advance into 4th job? Unless we can say points from like 115-120 and put it into 4th job (which i assume we can't) right?

1. No, without Mastery Books you won't be able to advance to 4th job because you have too many unspend SP's at lvl120 then.
2. Mastery Books have been confirmed as drops in-game, still there should be WAY more drops imo, so the prices can deflate to 100k mesos per book, but yeah, Nexon wants to gain money, to they keep them quite rare, and everyone "has" to pay NX to play further on their DBlade...
So, no you don't need to go the NX way if you don't want, they also drop in-game, but they're so rare, you'll have to wait till the next new classes (Resistance) come (Christmas 2010) till the Dual Blade books crash in price because they're not the newest classes anymore...
What I decided is to leave my DBlade at lvl72, kinda quit maple again, and come back when the mastery books have dropped to 100k mesos per book in the FM...
Nexon can go fck themselves with their all-NX gameplay...

DBs don't have it bad at all when it comes to books, thorns 30 in particular. Regular thorns 30 is a horntail-only drop, having a 100% version in the CS caps its price, unlike things like genesis, triple throw, and berserk 30 which can cost up to 60k nx or more in the MTS, and those have a 50% chance of failing. If the CS book didn't exist, thorns 30 would no doubt be worth hundreds of millions. All the pre-4th job books combined cost like 15-16k in the packages, which is way less than a book that costs 50k in the MTS and has a chance to fail. Also, disregarding MW, all 4th job DB skills only require one book to max, none of which are excessively difficult to find.
