I just don't understand how people can say that leveling is a joke. Sure, for some it may be, but that's the extreme side of the spectrum - most of us don't buy hoards of NX or have a billion rep to use. We slowly grind while talking with friends and socializing. I wouldn't mind a decrease at all.

I got my F/P to 71 in 6 days - which is a record to me - but is slow to other people, and then for the next 7 days I could barely get 8 levels because of the grind. I quit my F/P and now I'm waiting for dual bladers; if they turn out to be a bust, I'll see you all in December.

Long story short: Nexon is changing the game to suit the majority of people - the middle - and not the extremists who will grind their way to 200 no matter what the exp and will exploit every glitch, bug, and overpowered skill they can.

Lv71 in 6 days?! That's fast!

I took a week to get to Lv50 for my Aran. Sad

This man hits it on the head.

You can't balance the game around the extreme people who buy leech/2x exp cards/rep 2x to level to 200 in a month. <- These people are a small minority in the community, the reason you hear about them is because they level quickly and buy extravagantly. Other people see someone throwing money around like candy they take notice, and news travels fast.

It was only that fast because of CPQ, poison breath training at twisted jesters, and lots of free time (because it's the summer). It's probably best not to do it that fast because you'll probably get sick and tired of whatever class you are (like I did).

I can't believe it when people say that our current leveling speeds are fast. Relative to other versions, I guess so, but seriously? Taking hours to gain one level is not fast, and I hope this (New EXP req) stops players from spending hours and hours on the computer trying to level up.

It's an ~80% decrease on levels up to 78, and it decreases more as you go higher, but I heard that 199 -> 200 requires 50% less. My numbers probably aren't accurate, but they're close enough to give you a picture of what it'll be like. Also, you have to factor in the monster changes - roids are a good spot for 120+ people now.

Reminder: that -80% is from the KMS exp, we have a different exp curve here in GMS.

The EXP tables in GMS will most likely be altered to what KMS is getting. I also assume this will happen every version of MapleStory.

Big Bang patch =/= wild hunter and battlemage fyi

Erich Wrote:Big Bang patch =/= wild hunter and battlemage fyi

The Big Bang patch is split into 3 parts, which includes the battle mage and wild hunter.

Battle mage & Wild hunter ETA - Herborist - 2010-07-04

Erich Wrote:Big Bang patch =/= wild hunter and battlemage fyi

The big bang update is comprised of three separate patches: 1) a revamp of the game, 2) wild hunters and battle mages, 3) mechanic (and possibly something else). Therefore it is responsible to assume that if we get one, the other two aren't far behind.

Cyanne Wrote:Evans and dual bladers only took about 4 months to get to gMS, although gMS is relatively quite quick to pick up new classes. I'm thinking November or December for the revamp so that the new classes could come out over the holidays, during which the kids could get nx as christmas presents, lol xP

I wouldnt be surprised if GMS got the Big Bang update around December too. NExon wouldnt miss a chance to flog new stuff for the holidays. Once it is introduced into KMS then any future content will need to be compatible with it. And GMS seems to take certain things from KMS a lot sooner than others.

the 4th resistance class: Blacksmith. xD which uses 1h/2h BWs exclusively (kind of like arans use polearms) i personally think it fits with the new mining(?) town that was floating around.

How do you know that when we barely know anything about mechanics? Blacksmith sounds too much like a mechanic anyway.

71 in 6 days is pretty extreme bro...

I remember leveling my hermit like 3 years ago it took me like 1 year to get to 70

1-71 in 6 days is easy these days with enough time and nx. Wink

i don't know that, i thought it was obvious that was written in jest.

Didn't use any NX, and I only used 2x from family rep twice. Like I said, CPQ + poison breath. F/P's level a lot faster during 2nd job than most people realize, but then 70 - 80 is torture.

Battle mage & Wild hunter ETA - Manu - 2010-07-05

Any class levels faster these days, It took me a year to get my Hermit to 70, now it took me 4 days to get a slinger to 50, and I know that with some 2x family, golden temple and MP3, I wouldn't take long getting to 70.
