How to tell a girl that you want only to stay as friends? - Daku - 2010-04-14 Omni Wrote:Some girls don't care about that and would be able to talk with me. Unless I bring up conversations about sexual organs or sex, then they might be a bit freaked-out. But I'm not a freak, I just want some space. Just be like, yea yesterday i got Hammered and today woke up... took a piss... shaved that gotee... kicked the girl out Thats how my bro talks sooo yea. I'm not interested in relationships at this point anyways, even if I wanted to, I wouldn't able to handle it since it might add to the stress. Especially since I'm going for my 4-year degree at the moment. Perhaps after. How to tell a girl that you want only to stay as friends? - Daku - 2010-04-14 Omni Wrote:Once again, not the Funhouse. How to tell a girl that you want only to stay as friends? - Orit - 2010-04-15 Put in your blog, or perhaps tell her directly, something like, "blah blah so busy blah blah. Sure am glad I don't have a girlfriend atm, she'd be so neglected" Or possibly, "My buddy tried to introduce me to this girl, but man, I really don't have time for a relationship right now, got way too many claims on my time and attention as it is." Sure am glad I don't have a girlfriend atm, she'd be so neglected" That bolded line won't work. A stubborn lady will insist that she doesn't mind. Remember, shes kinda head over heels. @Omni - why do you keep "haha-ing"? Obviously, I don't know how you sound irl, but it -can- give her a false impression. For example, she might think one of the things that're great about you is that you laugh at everything she says. (just an example). Personally, I'm the type who gets guilty over making someone feel like crap. Even if they did deserve it. So in these situations, I typically just cold shoulder/shun them. Giving them polite attention isn't doing its job. So I act like they're starting to become a pain in the ass (by making my irritation clear). I saw her today, and we talked here and there, then she suggested that I cuddle with her. So I'm like "Heh. Sure?", and she was putting her head on my shoulder. Pretty damn positive she likes me now. Like, super-positive. How to tell a girl that you want only to stay as friends? - ★★★★★ - 2010-04-17 If you cant tell her truths, then tell half truths. Im a PROOOO at half truths. You want her to be only friends so, instead of saying "I dont want to go out with you or anything, i just want to be friends" Say "I dont like the poon, sorry" But on a more serious note, Just try to be as honest as you can and just tell her that you arent looking for anything right now. She will more than likely respect your choice. Like, super-positive. Stop leading the poor girl on. The longer this goes on, the more times you're like "sure", with or without question mark, and semi-cooperating with her attempts at closeness, the worse she is going to feel when you finally do tell her (or she finally realizes) you never wanted any of that. How to tell a girl that you want only to stay as friends? - Khoi - 2010-04-17 Might as well tell it to her straight-out, yeah. I'm pretty laid-back irl, so when I say something, even if sarcastically, most people won't seem to get it unless they're close friends. So yeah, I think I'll tell her before she thinks I like her or something. She's nice, I mean, seriously. Super cute. I'm just not interested. ._. Thanks for the advice, guys! How to tell a girl that you want only to stay as friends? - Milelke - 2010-04-17 Instead of calling her out and possibly having an extremely awkward moment (because she actually didn't like you), it'd be better to ask the question "Do you like me?" or something like that. Awkward moment will ensue on both, but it could be less for the latter. Telling might be odd because she might actually not like you and was just being flirtatious.Enter awkward silence or awkward conversation. While asking can get a clear response and gives a much more subtle way to say "I don't like you that way". Of course if that's what you were going to do, go along. How to tell a girl that you want only to stay as friends? - Khoi - 2010-04-17 Indeed. I was planning on just that, asking "So.. I've been getting the feeling that you like me?", and hoping to get a response. I'll probably see her either tonight (unlikely), or some time next week. How to tell a girl that you want only to stay as friends? - DeanNim - 2010-04-17 'yo biotch, im too busy with werk right now'.. so you' better be hittin on otha guys' ok srsly, i have experienced this. just told her i wasnt ready for a relationship for now. although she was sad and ignored me for a couple of weeks How to tell a girl that you want only to stay as friends? - Blaine - 2010-04-17 Sit her down one time and start talking about something...anything...but slowly direct the conversation towards what you think she feels for you. Once you get there, stop her and either ask her straight up, or tell her flat out you can't deal with something at this point in time. Other than saying she's cute and you're a softie for hurting people, you haven't really told us how you emotionally feel about her. If things weren't so busy and you had more time, would you date her? How to tell a girl that you want only to stay as friends? - Khoi - 2010-04-17 Blaine Wrote:Sit her down one time and start talking about something...anything...but slowly direct the conversation towards what you think she feels for you. Replying to the bottom portion of your post: I think of her as a friend. Really, she's cute, nice, etc., but I just think of her as a friend. I know pretty well I have tendencies to joke around rather often, and people may find that misleading and take it the wrong way. Perhaps she finds the fact that I'm always so nice = me liking her? Regardless, I will try to dig it out of her nicely by asking if she does like me. Not forcing or anything though, of course. I'll find out eventually, but I'll wait til the time is right, otherwise, I might make her feel uncomfortable by asking her. Even if I wasn't busy, the feelings wouldn't change, I think. Problem with me is that for the close friends now that I have, I don't mind that they're all close with me. But for newer people that I'm not too familiar with, I'd rather them not be too into my life. Especially since I'm fully aware I'm a pretty busy 21 year old. I work and go to school pretty much daily, except for weekends. Summer on the other hand, I'll be busy exercising and probably working: a) 2 part-time jobs OR b) a full-time job (45 hrs/week, -5 hours for lunches. 40 hrs total) with a small part-time job (hopefully around 8-10 hours only, no more for this part-time job) That'd be nice, and that's what I plan on doing during the Summer. No life. :/ How to tell a girl that you want only to stay as friends? - Yotsuba - 2010-04-17 Omni Wrote:I laugh to give her an impression that maybe I am bored or un-interested, guess it's doing the opposite. Like, super-positive. I don't understand you, Khoi. "I don't wanna get too close to her." Next Day "lol Khoi, can I cuddle you?" "Sure." Yes, I'd rather say "No" and seem like a douche or say "F*ck off" because that's rather considerate, right? My options are either: a) Say nothing b) Say something that's similar to the word 'yes', but with a question-mark at the end, hinting to her that it would be awkward or strange. And of course you won't understand me, you're not me. Anyways, this situation isn't that huge, I think I know of a way to talk to her reasonably. Thread can be closed now, since I figured out exactly what to do.
