Looking for MS alternatives - GameMX - 2010-03-17 cilin Wrote:play RFO is a 3d game.. a real game... bettr than WoW Cool story bro. Anyway, I quit MS and I'm currently playing WoW. I'm enjoying it, the amount of new content and improvements. I used to play in Classic. Did anyone besides me laugh in rl when they read this reply? Who the pineapple is going to continue supporting a company that fucked them over and stole their real money? Since when is merchanting a violation of the ToS? Nexon NEVER announced that it was a hack so how the pineapple was anyone supposed to know? You trying to get Nexon's HR department to notice how much you love them? Yeah, they probably don't read fan forums. King Wrote:As for IP bans there are TONS of ways to get around itOh shyt son, that's against Nexon's mighty law! You just lost your dream job of being a GM at Nexon! Good luck at McDonalds? Looking for MS alternatives - Duelman - 2010-03-19 I laughed when I read that. I swear NX is hiring some bloggers or something to troll SP with their pro-NX attitude.. On topic note: I have been largely enjoying myself with Wonderking, although like someone else said before it is reminiscent of an older pre-4th job MS. Glitches have come and gone fairly smoothly there though. I like the fact that their GM's talk to you in the forums and actually pass along glitch fixes and suggestions to the developers. You could also try pickin up D2:LOD again, their ladder is to reset with a new balancing patch 1.13b on March 23rd. Edit: You can add me if you try WK on server: Kadopan. My ign is "DuelHanded". Looking for MS alternatives - Chameleonic - 2010-03-19 Where is Wonderkings official site? I might check it out. Looking for MS alternatives - Duelman - 2010-03-19 The website is: http://wonderking.ndoorsgames.com I messed up earlier on my server's name; as I am playing in Windus (The older server like bera compared to galacia). IGN: DuelHanded server:Windus I highly rec you try it out, the open market their is setup like an MTS list/search system. Also try browsing their forums to find an up to date guide on a character. So far the warrior is my favorite out of all 3 I have tried. Looking for MS alternatives - kirby756 - 2010-03-19 I had some of my greatest experiences in an MMO in LaTale, but the community started to fade as updates took longer and longer, and every patch was a cash item thing/event. I never really gave WonderKing a chance, because I found the starting of the game to be really lame. I'm really annoyed with MapleStory right now, and may give WonderKing a try. It was fun for the short period of time I played it, but I quit due to not having many friends on it. Looking for MS alternatives - Milelke - 2010-03-21 Wonderking- Too similar to MapleStory, I suggest not, because you'll fell like your playing the same game.Gets Boring and grind becomes worse than that of Mapelstory. LaTale-Fun at first, Gets Boring and grind becomes worse than that of Maplestory. DRAGONICA end. Looking for MS alternatives - Kingzeh - 2010-03-21 Trickster Online is actually pretty fun it's big, has a ton of bosses, nice quests, pretty cool events and intense pvp (lol) Only bad part is their version of the "Cash shop" sells "sets" of equipment that are better than anything you can find in game. Looking for MS alternatives - Phoenix - 2010-03-21 Milelke Wrote:Wonderking- Too similar to MapleStory, I suggest not, because you'll fell like your playing the same game.Gets Boring and grind becomes worse than that of Mapelstory. o.o at what lvl does the grind become worse? So far i've just been lvling off quests =/ Looking for MS alternatives - Seanny - 2010-03-21 Murr, I also send a recommendation for LaTale. A majority of cash items are tradable there. (as in, can be put in trade window/shops) Including pet life extension items, instant heal potions, exp buff potions and the like. Some pet coupons can even be bought with in-game money from cash players, but most of those are very expensive. Unlike most 2d MMOs, there's no invincibility frames after every hit, meaning tanks actually have a use and you have to actually think and not over-aggro while grinding. Sometimes it becomes so engaging I've forgotten that I'm 'grinding', since i can actually die if im not careful. The upgrade system. which revolves around applying "puzzles" to items is well balanced in that the upgrade resource is buyable in every town; So no player feels left out YET it still takes a lot of work to make an item "godly". Love it way more than MS's scrolls with crappy drop rates (hard to make a good item AND hard to even get the chance... bleh.) Regarding the grind...The game doesn't reach grindfest (least by my standards) until lv 130 or so, 110 if someone chooses to solo. The party system is very nice for increasing exp gain. A party of two for example, will cut the exp earned per kill to 75% of what you would solo. However, with 2x the killing power you really could earn 1.5x the exp overtime compared to solo grinding. the benefit incresases a bit more with a bigger party as well. If you choose to spend cash however the grind can be reduced to nothing depending on which version you play. NA Latale (OGP) it's possible to buy FS items and "enchant" them piece by piece for extra exp. a 24% bonus can be achieved from that alone. a Exp stone can add up to an additional 25%. and some special fashion sets can carry with it an innate 20-40% exp bonus too (while still being enchantable) There's even some very controversial exp potions that's been released. Currently 200% exp bonus potions and 500% exp potions can be bought in the cash shop, or won via LTs 'Gacha" known as LaDeck. Get them and there is no grind in this game whatsoever. On the bad side: it's made the top rankings worthless, and can make finding a consistent grinding partner frustrating. (and you thought temporary 8x was bad?!) Also on the bad side : LaTale is highly latency sensitive, the game is server sided as opposed to client-sided, meaning there's a tiny delay after keypresses that may exist depending on how high your ping is. If you can ping california servers between 0-100 ms, its too negligble to even really care about unless you're into PVP. But at about 150-200 ms range (like me) you'd have to be careful in what class and sometimes even skill tree you choose. Overall, LaTale is worth a good look if you have a taste for 2d and keyboard controls. Fun combat system (though its a bore until level 40 or so), worthwhile party exp system, instanced dungeons to hunt bosses in (no 1 party per channel crap) and classes that actually feel different when playing them. Looking for MS alternatives - Chameleonic - 2010-03-22 I've tried Trickster, LaTale and Wonderking and none of them really appeal to me. Yes they all do a lot of things MUCH better than Maple but they all let me down with their game mechanics/ battle systems or whatever you want to call it...the way you use skills and fight/attack seems so clunky while in Maple it is fluid and smooth. None of them come close to the way you fight and use skills in Maple. All its failings aside, I Unfortunately find Maple is still the most fun and enjoyable game to play.

I could never manage to climb ladders that weren't accessible through just jumping from under them, EVER. It's a huge challenge for people whose ping is over 150ms... Looking for MS alternatives - ZakumSlaYers - 2010-03-22 You should try WonderKing, it's almost a duplicate of MS ![]() @Seanny Yeah, I agree with that. A lot of things on LaTale are server sidded, it's almost unhackable although the price for that is latency issue. Looking for MS alternatives - GameMX - 2010-03-22 I'll say this, After all the experience I've had with Free to play MMOs, they become vile in content later on. "Cash Shop" patches appear more and more as if it seems the company is just aiming for money directly now, not as of aiming for money from real content, just petty dinky virtual crap, like pets. Its almost like a scam in ways, especially with Nexon on those gachapon events. I decided to go back to pay to play. Where the content is much more stable, it comes in more, and from my experience with WoW, there is a pomegranate load of things to do. Leveling is just a small factor of the game, unlike Maplestory where it was the game. You get to 200 and you get a dinky skill that basically has no use, because well... there is no high level content! Maplestory should stop at level 120 honestly, those last 80 levels are a grind fest with poor structure on leveling. They should just delete those last 80 levels at this point, Pink Bean is retarded in design due to 1 hour only, and Horntail is well... the only real high level content (excluding the dead Masteria). Nexon didn't really change with DFO or Mabi, I doubt they will with their new MMO. EDIT: Also, it's nice not dealing with hacker issues in WoW. The only real problem is account phishing, but that's naturally every MMO. Looking for MS alternatives - Duelman - 2010-03-22 I hope nobody tried wonderking during the last week or so. There had been a glitch on potting while using skills that made the game seem horrible. The glitch got fixed in a maintenance a few days ago, which is cool because their maintenance's are like patches to maple. I like the merchanting/scrolling system more than maple by far. In less than a week I saved up more than 1m in pure zed (WK's version of mesos). I wish someone would come out with a 2d-P2P game, would be awesome. For the time being, I'll be just trying to have fun while I wait on diablo 3... Nobody has tried to buddy me in WK-Windus server yet but if anyone wants help getting started/questing hit me up on DuelHanded. They actually did fix that at about may of last year if not sooner than that. I've been able to run jump ladders, and even ladder-skip for months now despite my horrid ping. It's greatly cut down the # of needless deaths i've suffered. I'm still hoping they'll make a good workaround for the small delay in skill combos one day however... |
