They were all gey to me, and I was waiting for them to evolve since I was 5. Lucario stands out on another branch to me, but thats just my opinion I guess

Most of the ones that weren't given new evolutions already had previously been given them in second and third generation. Also you seem to be forgetting about the eggs of older pokemon that are constantly being released. No pokemon is safe as far as staying a single generation goes. Even the legendaries aren't safe, look at what happened to the Regi's. It's definitely not unbelievable to expect that they'd continue this trend.

Also @ hazzy/kiyo: the point isn't how "powerful" they are (honestly only idiots who play competitively care about this anyway because you can get through the games with literally any pokemon at a decent level) it's about a trend of devaluing old pokemon by turning them into new ones.

Electabuzz sucks, Magmar sucks, Rhydon sucks, Chansey was okay but just added a buff to make her wall a better.

Lucario on the other hand is OU, and needs no buffing. I take it you don't play competitively?

Dusknoir is already a reaper. Before anyone says an opposing force to god, the lore from the games seems to make Giratina out as that pokemon.

In other words, PokeSatan.

Yes, it is a problem. Unless they do what happened with Scyther (cutting speed for attack in the evolution, and basically leaving the rest of the stats alone) you ruin the balance. Lucario is already a high tier pokemon. Making a stronger version of him is a dumb idea.

Tehn again, Scyther is the only pokemon I can think of that doesn't get an actual boost with evolution. Perhaps they'll add more Pokemon who do this.

You know who really needs an evolution though? Farfech'd. Nobody loves him, and gamefreak loves making him one of the rarest pokemon to get even though he sucks balls.

Nothing has ever said it was the actual Pokemon God.

Sarah, you realize that Nintendo's finally acknowledging there's a competitive battling scene? They're catering to it now. Move tutors. More TMs. Physical/special split. They wouldn't screw us over with a Lucario evolution, they'd screw us over with a new Pokemon and its evolution chains. (See : Garchomp)

It's never plainly stated in the English version, but it's pretty obvious that Arceus is thought of as a creation deity. "Shaped the universe with a thousand arms" or something along those lines are included in its pokedex entries.

As one of those idiots, Just about every pokemon they gave an extra evolutionary chain to needed it deeply. Although Magmar and Electabuzz looked cool, they needed that little boost. Lucario stands out on the same level as Electavire and Magmortar, but alot of pokemon that were origionaly released with a single form needed a baby form and/or an evolution to stand out. Seriously, who wanted a Roselia until Roserade came around?

That doesn't mean he is THE Pokemon God though. Ever since R/S/E legendaries have been these super powerful creation type Pokemon. It was only Arceus that got called a God since he "created the universe".

But at one time Mew was basically the creator of all Pokemon.

I never thought he was meant as THE God. The link I posted was from Mahayana Buddhism, which certainly doesn't have THE God. To me, as god is a god, regardless of what religion it's from. It's a god of the pokeuniverse, but I never said anything about it being on the same level as monotheistic gods.

I guess what I'm saying is your post made it seem more like you were disputing the evidence supporting Arceus as a god (regardless of if he is or not, we don't know if that's just folklore).

And yes, Mew is the ancestor, not creator. They're different. People certainly don't tend to think of cavemen as the "creators" of human beings.

I was watching this when it was revealed. I dunno how long they're going to be able to keep pumping out new Pokemon. The whole Arceus = God thing is reading a bit too much into it, probably, but they do seem to be running out of ideas. General opinion seems to be that the legendary Pokemon have gotten worse in terms of design each generation. Hope this generation can break that trend.

I'm expecting a tapir-based evolutionary line.

Better not disappoint.

Zangoose level up Big Grin Or ninetales ^__^

They should make the legendaries ice, electric, and fire and pair them with the most random types like fire + water, Electirc + grass, and Ice + poison xD
