I don't understand how you can be a 1hko at squids. At level 55 I could take a touch hit with no HP equips.

I know a guy who trained at Himes with a DK and Onyx Apples every 10 minutes at lvl 55, (he is currently a 16x NL.) His equips are some of the godliest I've ever seen. Anything's possible if you have the right funds and party.

So, what you're telling us is that with the right funds and party, it's possible to be ohko by Squids at 7x?

No, I mean with the right funds and party you can train nearly anywhere you want. At lvl 80 you can train on squids without any real problems, I think. I wen to squids at lvl 80.

Well, you're the one telling Sapph that anything's possible with the right funds and party when he stated that it shouldn't be possible to be okho'ed by Squids at 7x.

I quit some time back, so I don't really remember the minimum HP for squids and stuff anymore. I just remember what I did to whack them.
But you gotta admit, a lvl 55 sin shouldn't be able to train at Himes. If that's possible, with the right setup similar things are possible for a bowman.

Do you have any puppet that you're using? If you can float down close enough, arrow rain, then swim away and place a puppet, they pretty much ignore you.
I loved squids far more than gobies, but it did take a while to figure the map out. Easiest for me was to work from top to bottom.
Other option might be death teddies, especially if you have a priest to come with you.

It just gets used to. I was toying with squids since level 72, so I sorta learned the map a bit before I trained there.
Basically, use barbs/the 1500 HP ramens, and make sure you keep a CLOSE eye on your HP. Having HP flashing will help even if you don't have autopot - it'll make it stand out when you need to heal.

Use white pots! You need two HP potions when you first start squidding. About 50 Barbs, 400 white potions, and 300 sorcs is what I remember using. Just use white pots to overpot the damage you take from the poison ink. The shots can be ignored; they only 1 damage. You rarely take a body hit from them, but when you do, you need that extra healing. That's why I recommend using two different HP pots.
Also, get better at potting. You'll need it to keep playing a ranged class. Double-potting repeatedly at Nest Golems is hard D: (Ice cream + Unagi while stopping Hurricane every 3 seconds)

They only do 1 damage if you have a Zhelm, or otherwise massive defense somehow. Otherwise it's like ~100.

I actually use Pizza for small healing, since I get some MP healing on the way too making it quite efficient. White Pots could work, though, I guess.

How hard is it to get 2xx defense? They do 3x damage without a ZHelm to me.

When you train on Squids, would you party up with people? Or is it a solo kind of thing where you jump around? And is getting a map as hectic as V/H?

The rest are usually empty
Solo is generally better, if you want to party you have to be level 93 and at Rissels.
