man I love when people read into posts in completely incoherent ways to present their point in an even more asinine light than it was before...

I never once said that I thought glitching this game made it enjoyable, and in fact I was pretty strongly against glitching OPQ and things of that nature when they were the big talked about problems. Do you understand the difference between the two? My entire point was that people who are going to throw peachfits on a video game over something so simple as saving a minute or two in a pq with no other OMFG ILLEGIT HACKER advantages to it are causing me (and I'm sure a lot of other people who have had to deal with people like that) much more pain than the issue at hand.

I enjoyed laughing in the face of people who asked me to glitch.

And also in the faces of every other member of the party too. They have no control over what the leader does, but apparently you'd rather ruin the PQ for everyone than put up with something you disagree with that has no real impact on anything right?

Well as much as I admire you people who hold to true to those principals regardless of the actual impact of your actions, in my book they're worthless without a purpose behind them. If you aren't hurting anyone then it doesn't matter, on the other hand spoiling the PQ for everyone does hurt people so it seems to me like you're far worse than anyone who glitches APQ.

And for the record I don't glitch it but I fail to see how anyone could get so worked up over people breaking the rules when it's inconsequential.

But if you're going to be so pedantic about sticking to the rules regardless of the actual consequences of your actions then you better quit your character if you're ever bypassed the word censor, talked about sex or other things inappropriate for an E10+ game through maple or KS'd anyone before, even in self defense. Because technically you've broken the rules and you're illegit now. Or you could keep your character, keep whining about this, and remain a hypocrite. Up to you.

It's not the terms of service I am bound by, it's my own moral code. If you want something done, you do it right. If people really bawwww about an extra minute or two on their APQ, there's not much I can do about it. If the subject comes up before we go in, I even tell them I refuse to glitch. Staying is their choice.

That still doesn't change the fact that your problem is between you and the leader, no-one else in the party controls what the leader does. Nothing gives you the right to inflict your morals on everyone else ruin the PQ for the whole party. If it's such a big issue for you then don't APQ until the glitch is fixed.

Glitching in APQ - Rick - 2010-01-20

Almost every single time, I AM the leader. If not, I warn the party well before they even click on Amos. If they choose to ignore me, is it really my fault that it's ruined?

Glitching in APQ - Wedges - 2010-01-20

Yes it is because "they" didn't ignore you, the leader did. Four other people did nothing wrong.

You have no right to inflict your morals on those other people, if the leader ignores you anyway you should stay and remember to never APQ with them again. No moral code can ever justify hurting those four people who did nothing wrong.

Do you consider "doing things right" to be a higher priority than "don't hurt others"?

Glitching in APQ - Rick - 2010-01-20

Well that depends, very often the right thing is done in order to not hurt others. They have no one to blame but the leader who so blatantly ignored the warnings. Had he done the right thing, no one would be hurt. I have also left a few parties because they had a hacker.

Glitching in APQ - Wedges - 2010-01-20

Rick Wrote:They have no one to blame but the leader who so blatantly ignored the warnings.

No actually, they have both of you to blame. The leader for ignoring your warnings and you for inflicting your troubles onto the rest of the party who did nothing wrong. If you didn't leave, their PQ wouldn't be ruined, you still have complete control over that.

Rick Wrote:Well that depends, very often the right thing is done in order to not hurt others.

If you're hurting people who did nothing wrong you are not doing the right thing. Not hurting people takes precedence over any view you have about anything else.

Your morals are not more important than other people.

Greg Wrote:I used to glitch it all the time. Hell, glitching Stage 1 was one of the only exciting parts of APQing after hundreds upon hundreds of runs. "OH SH'IT OH SHI'T IS THE MIDDLE PORTAL GONNA BE THE ONE THIS TIME?"

Stage 1 is a useless, annoying stage. It's especially annoying if there's only one female/male. I could care less about the ToS in regards to this.

This is exactly how i feel

My friend and i have a contest on who can glitch stage 1 the most. She glitched stage 1 when the portal was on the far right lol

Glitching in APQ - Rick - 2010-01-20

Well, we've both said our piece. All that can happen from here is we go in pointless circles.

The 4 party members would go apeshi't about glitching stage1 thereafter, which is a good impact in my opinion. If we take things far enough, glitchers could get discriminated in the same manner as looters do. I'm the kind of guy that wouldn't care whether my leader glitches or not, but I will have a hearty laugh the day he gets cast out for abusing something generally considered defective, and I support actions that bring about that end.

Glitching APQ is as bad as chair jumping.

I mean, you have to wait for 6 hours for the next apq nontheless, doesn't always work, and only saved a minute or two. Gives you no real advantage. Not even extra exp.

Chair jumping can be done at all times, doesn't always work, and lets you look funny. Gives you no real advantage. Not even extra exp.

More likely people will avoid partying whoever left.

And how on earth would less glitching be a good thing? It doesn't harm anyone, it doesn't really make a difference in any way that matters.
Screwing people out of their PQ on the other hand does make a difference and does hurt people.

LOL "hurt people"....now that makes me really laugh.
I guess glitching APQ doesn't have as much of a serious side effect as OPQ glitch which left many people hilariously banned. Each time a new PQ comes out there's always someone talking about glitching. But it's just showing people's general lazyness with Maple Story these days. If it can be exploited it will be done.

Ah well, I don't have to deal with it. Thank the world.

now this is starting to sound like terrorism lol

I like Alloy's comparison. It really is harmless in every sense.

He was referring to the comment, not rick's argument. It sounds kind of exaggerated.
