i don't tip, its a cultural thing though. no one in Australia tips anyone at restaurants maybe some times if you get like 50Cent to 2 Dollars change you may put it in a tip jar, but that is if the place has one.

I work at my local Pizza Hut part time, however I do make-table rather then delivery!

However my sister works there also and she is a wing girl/deliverer. She said its "proper" to tip 2$ per pizza, she was reading somewhere. However, its really random. She delivers one pizza and she gets a 7$ tip. Then she takes a order of 15mias to a party and the people give her a buck, so I think 2$ per pizza is fair but thats just me.

The one thing thats nice about working in the food business! Experimenting! I've made some pretty freaking good pizzas...

You'll be fine as long as you live in a good area, know what I mean? Sure, there's some jerks out there who are too cheap to tip, but it's not like generous individuals such as myself don't order pizzas on a regular basis. I usually tip the pizza guy $4 bucks for a $25 order. Without a doubt, you'll end up getting tips higher than that on a consistent basis during your time at Domino's.

It's kind of a weird juxtaposition, actually. The location sits on the border of a poverty/well-off separation. The building sits in a "ghetto" area, but the delivery range includes some very well-off homes.

I had a job doing cashier and stuff like that at a grocery store for a good 8 months. Hated it, though.

I said I'd post again about this.

So, on my second day at work, in a trailer park delivery, someone hit my fender and drove off. Force of upward impact broke my rear right tail light and a huge crack in my fender. Fun stuff. Had to file a police report at 12:30 AM with a police officer who didn't believe me.

Like Grog said, I made good tips. ~$20 on 6 deliveries. I only did 6 because I was still technically an in-store worker and they didn't even have my insurance papers yet.

I always tip my deliverers.. lolspelling. I usually give them like 8 dollars worth of tip- I never order pizza that will total 30 bucks or less.
Special Topping Pizza (party) = $25
Fucking BBQ or x-hot Wings = $12
can't forget the fries = $3.99
Total= 42.98 including fee. I give them 50. and say keep the change!

No homo, but the delivery guys look so poor and cute! <3333

That's a good tip! I got a 50 on an order of 44.64 the other day. That's plenty for me. Tongue

I live in North Carolinaaaa.

Ew, NC... come up to NY cause I order everyday- 8*7=56 dollars worth of tip. Oh shi- it's really that high? :f6:

i always tip 10-15% of the purchase in general. Only time they don't get a tip is if they:

Hella screw the order to hell (i.e. ordering something, getting something completely different multiple times)

Hella fail as a server (ignores the table even when flagged; interested in just cycling tables instead of providing good service)

Hella bad food (restaurant wise).

I just tell 'em to keep the change.

But we haven't ordered pizza in a long time. We do, however, stop by Little Caesar's every Saturday.

HOW DARE YOU.
YOU DON'T KNOW THE PLEASURES OF NORTH CAROLINA.
IT IS THE PRETTIEST STATE EVER AND THE HOME OF COKE.
OKSRSLY, WITHOUT NC YOU WOULDN'T HAVE CHEERWINE OR FOODLION.

Anyway,
I usually tip with what I have left for change. My usuall order comes to 17 or 18 something so I just hand the person a 20 and go feast.

We own a family restaurant so I know how it feels to get little to no tips. Whenever I order a meal, I always leave at least $2. On rare occasions do I leave less if the service was bad, but I'm pretty tolerant of slow service.

Off-topic: How could you guys forget Cook-Out?! I love going there late at night with friends. Chin

Who tips the pizza guy?

Seriously though, we're not used to tip the pizza guy in my country. (I live in Argentina btw).

So I got a job... - Derimed - 2009-12-16

I remember ONE time I did not tip the delivery guy. I simply forgot the tip. He was a huge pimento about it, and to be honest I don't regret not tipping that particular guy. Most of the time I tip the pizza guy 2 dollars. However, when we're in the mood for pizza, I do pick-up the vast majority of the time. It makes no sense to pay delivery charges and tips when the pizza place is just down the street; and honestly, we get the pizza faster and hotter that way.

As far as the job being dangerous, I can see that. You're going alone to a random person's house. That person knows you have money on you, and he is getting you there on his terms and at his leisure. If he wants you there at 1:00 am at night, you'll come there at night. It's not really something I'd want to do for the amount of money it pays.

Huh. When I've ordered pizza in the past, the driver's are allowed to have a friend with them in the car. I noticed that they always had a passenger and asked why and they said "safety in numbers."

I think that's a policy all delivery services should adopt. Not everyone is going to have a friend who wants to come along, obviously, but if you do and if they're not screwing around I don't see it as a problem.
