Technolink Wrote:Well now this becomes more of a what skill question. Right now I'm thinking:
21 Eagle
9 Thurst
20 MB
20 Pup

I definitely want maxed MB, and I only get 2 speed from equips + 10 from pill, so the question is:
Do I need 21 eagle? Would 15 be fine?
Is 20 puppet really necessary, could sacrificing 2 points from it be worth 3 speed? 5 points be worth 6 speed?

I'm trying to work towards higher speed because I feel that would be more helpful at maps such as peak and skeles, while puppet doesn't seem to be much use at its higher levels except at pap.

Eagle, I thought 21 was a good amount for mid and bottom newts so I wouldn't even have to stop and bliz, but would the 88% from 15 be enough? 95% sounds fairly nice, even if it becomes useless in 4th.

We really need a what skill should I get next thread.

Consider how easy it is to leech from 105-120 these days, its highly possible for someone to leave eagle at 15 and never touch it again, I'd say. It might be a frowned upon way of leveling, but it happens =X

well i always talk about builds as if the person is going to actually play the char not leech it. might as well leech a strafe less bm or a l7 less NL

Russt Wrote:And really, though I haven't worked with any level of puppet other than 1 or 3, I'd think once you get beyond 30-40 seconds, there's really no need for a higher timer. The main difference afterward seems to be its tanking ability, which depends on HP, not timer.
Archers who are able to keep Pap pinned could use Puppet to save pots. In this case, the timer is more important than the HP.

I meant besides Pap, since Technolink was asking about that.

I could alwaysd get 15 eagle (which I get at 106), and try it out, and if I don't like it just get 21. I think I'm being a little speed-paranoid. 130 should be plenty =P

I think for people leeching it might be a hybrid of training/leeching. I "leeched" from 100-111, but in reality I was on the sniping spot at Newties with my Archmage friend taking a much larger share of the map. While it might seem like I did not help much, she said the slightly different placement this allowed her saved her pots and gave more XP. I also had to train by myself sometimes, and I really don't think I could have done that if I was Strafeless or something.

Of course, there are people that leech from straight 1-120 or something, and I agree there's little point in that.

I tried leeching from like, 85 to 96 in 2 days with 2x.
Gives no sense of well like, satisfication in fufilling something >.>"

On 2x, with an AoE attacker at newties with 2x exp, i think my cousin got like a level per night at 105, maybe even a level and a half. But as it reached 120, he started attacking as well, making it still 1 level a night. Until his exp expires, I will continue to train at newties during the day, with him helping me leech at night.

And I believe pppet is still useful for tanking stuff and as a distractor like always. Sometimes that hawk just doesn't stun, puppet and run a way.

Puppet is your best friend at Pap and Pianus.

I use puppet a LOT at 157.

Skele mobs: Dragon Breath, step forward, Puppet, step back, SOA

Pap: puppet in far right, pin pap at far left. When puppet runs out, ride hog to right, puppet, ride hog back left, and pin. Puppet keeps second form from killing you if you can't keep it KB'ed.

Crow: puppet, buff, attack

Lady Boss: when pinning to the right, sometimes summons get in the way... puppet and retreat fastly

I really dont buy into the Frostprey replacing Eagle argument.

You just need to look at Crimsonwood keep. Frostprey is barely usable in what is the newest area in GMS. Whereas Eagle is an essential skill for training on guardians. I wouldnt fancy standing next to or below a guardian with a 1 in 10 chance he is gonna unstun and maybe hit me for 5k.

If future developments mirror CWK, expect lots more areas specifically designed to thwart some or all of our 4th job skills. And with our crappy HP, we need all the defensive skills we can get.

Well time temple definately has some ice resistant areas. I suppose 95% eagle (21) would be enough. As long as what I'm training on doesn't 1 hit me, using a few more pots there should be worth the speed boost everywhere else.
