Chameleonic Wrote:Reviving ones pet with life water is a relatively small cost to buying all the equips for it. It costs about $17 if you get all the equips.

I really want a perma pet and perma equips for my accounts.Rolleyes

I would rather just have the pet skill system. Then all you need to buy is the water of life which isn't much.

Only the Meso Magnet and Item Pouch really matter anyway.

winged boots are nice for those that dont jump around all over their loot like you. Also, I find pierce training a lot easier with hp pouch since it can heal while I charge.

Speak for yourself. HP and MP auto pot are far more important than looting monster ects and a few k in meso,Rolleyes

They're all being removed on the 10th.

A downside to that system which I don't hear much about is that pets can only know 3 skills...

I'm feeling a bit outdated here, whats the pet skill system?

Manual pot > auto pot

Manual loot sucks

Instead of having pet equips, each pet has skills. That's why they cost different amounts, they come with different stuff.

You can also buy CS items to apply to your pet to give it skills (or CS items to remove skills).

I'm fairly sure this is originally how it was for both KMS and JMS pets, GMS forked off by having pet equips other than the red ribbon & stuff.

Sometimes for things like meso magnet, magic scales, binoculars, etc. you have to wonder whether or not your pet will actually pick up enough extra in those 3 months to be worth the nx. Personally, the only loot item I use is item pouch, and I actually have it off most of the time, only using it for things like training or quests.

It speeds up training because you don't have to stand around to pick up each drop that you want. It's more of a time saving factor than a money saving factor. I do think my pet picks up more than 20m mesos in 3 months of training, though.

By drops, do you mean like uncommon stuff or things like ores? Because if it's not worth it, just use the nx you would have spent on a magnet/pouch on MTS mesos and ignore all the regular junk stuff drops.

The meso magnet kind of depends on how much you train though because you don't get a whole lot of meso drops other than from training or farming for things like time pieces.

In a 4 hour session at O4 on 2x drop (which is profitable to use anyway) I easily pick up 3-5m in pure mesos. One grind session every 3 weeks is enough to cover that expense. I dunno what I'd be doing that doesn't drop a lot of mesos =/

I'm also kind of OCD when it comes to item drops. I try to pick up all mesos that drop unless they're really out of the way.

More Permanent Items - Chameleonic - 2009-10-31

I'm a bit OCD too when it comes to picking up meso/etc drops. I played my cleric a bit the other day and it doesnt have a pet...if you pick everything up like I do training is about 3x slower without a pet that loots.

Class related, of course... my paladin is inches from anything it can kill, so it's not hard to loot (I just rush, pick stuff up from previous deaths, kill more, rush, etc.). Clerics have a skill that hits both in front and behind them, so the loot doesn't end up tidily in a pile.

If they made a permanent pet+equips, I'd buy it... but it's not essential to me otherwise.

More Permanent Items - Chameleonic - 2009-10-31

Even if the loot ends up tidy in a pile you still spend the majority of your time standing still for the time it takes to pick things up. When I was at goby with my MM I reckon 70% of my time was standing on a pile of loot picking it up.

They should have a perma "common" pet fully equipped that is free with every account...it would not stop people buying more pets...just look at the PB craze.

Anyway, I'd love perma pet and equips for my accounts, it would make playing maple a whole lot more enjoyable.

So is it just me, or can anyone find the new permanent stuff in CS today?

Sure is fun not being able to pot through my main attacking 4th job skill.

Sure is sad that you can't let go of your skill for even a fraction of a second to use a potion. I've had a BM and a Corsair, and I've bossed on both. Autopot is completely unnecessary, inefficient, and I've heard people complain about how their autopot failed them enough times for me to never want one.

I keep making back the money i spent on my pets stuff. When you train at O4 there's a ton of stuff that gets in the way if a PoT drops, and if you don't see it, then sometimes you miss it. With a pet i always get every piece that drops, and it only takes a few to regain the money i used.

Not to mention that with a pet your training speed increases because you're not wasting time picking up everything.
