So you're fine killing yourself? That's a nice attitude.

-"Smell bad", not really. I shower twice a day and use deodorant daily.
-"Die young", this happens when you drink too much or die in a car accident too. Enjoying life is what matters.

TL;DR: Greg, .......stop being a platypus.

You know, you can shower 18 times a day and you're still going to smell like you've been chewing on dirty socks if you smoke. It sticks to EVERYTHING and doesn't go away easily at all.

also how old are you again that you don't care about how you look? 'cause last time I checked, if you're going for a job and it comes down to a smoker and a non-smoker (and the boss isn't a smoker), it's going to go to the non-smoker. Not just because of smells but because of company time and appearance. Someone who doesn't smoke isn't going to need to get up every hour and spend 10 minutes outside. And how you look is very important in the work world.

Also it's really gross and no girl wants to kiss a guy who's been smoking unless they're gross and have been doing it too. Seriously. And it yellows the pomegranate out of your teeth/fingers, even if you're not inhaling.

There's a ton of reasons besides the health ones to not smoke.

Woah, just saw this part. Greg is not a platypus for not wanting to do the equivalent of stabbing his lungs with a knife. He made the RIGHT choice.

RobMdza Wrote:Only with cigarettes you have to inhale to your lungs... stop being ignorant.

With cigars/cigarrillos, you have to taste the smoke only... no need to get it into your lungs.

And FYI, Cigars/Cigarillos don't kill your life, they don't have Nicotine/Alquitran. Stop being dicks.

You can still get cancer from cigars. The smoke doesn't have to go into your lungs for it to harm your body.

Uh, are you talking about the type of person that smokes a pack a day, or the casual smoker that smokes anywhere from 1-5 a day? Massive difference there. Sure, I realize smoking has it's problems, but let's not over-exaggerate and stereotype by saying that smoking is 'omgad so bad that you might not get a job'. I've never seen this happening ever since I applied for jobs. Ever. I mean, maybe if you smoke so MUCH that you reak of it, sure.

You know, all I wanted out of this thread was the difference between cigars and cigarettes, and the ways in smoking the two, not 'how lethal smoking' is, if I wanted to know about it that bad, I would have simply referred back to my High school notes. kthxbai.

Smoking cigarettes vs cigars/cigarillos - Greg22 - 2009-10-18

The differences were already given, and there's only one way to smoke both of them. Smoking a cigar or cigarette any way other than the right way is merely an excuse to not call yourself an actual smoker.

It doesn't really matter whether or not you're a "casual smoker"; one cigar is equivalent to ten cigarettes, and that's what you smoke.

And it doesn't matter what you think, since I never wanted this type of response in the first place. You guys are just going completely off-topic, which is why I don't care. Now, had I made a topic about how lethal smoking was, your responses would have been deemed acceptable or useful to me.

Smoking cigarettes vs cigars/cigarillos - Greg22 - 2009-10-18

Every post in this thread is entirely on topic, seeing how the only "topic" we have to work with is the thread title, Smoking cigarettes vs cigars/cigarillos. All you really described in your initial post was your experiences with the both of them followed by your personal preference, and now you expect us not to give ours? To not expect opinionated responses on smoking when asking about it on a Maple Story forum has to be the biggest joke since you started taking up smoking to begin with. Lastly, throwing in comments like "You're a platypus for thinking that way" or "HURRR DURR TOO COOL FOR SCHOOL! ROFL!" doesn't really help towards your chances of keeping the topic in line with the kind of responses you're looking for.

That being said, you're better off going to a forum with other people who have made the bold decision of crippling themselves at an early age. I wish you luck on your future endeavors, most especially in regards to the obstacles that will come with smoking daily. Good day!

If you're breathing something in it is going directly into your lungs, You can't say, "I breathed in air but no oxygen went into my lungs." it just sounds stupid. I'm not a smoker and never will be, so try to stop while you're behind.
This thread is now toxic, with my air bending abilities I shall remove the toxians. (I do this in every thread now.)

i used to smoke in college, not anymore i quit long ago. it really is a stupid hobby and it really does smell bad. you do and whichever room you smoke in smells. after i quit i did feel better and i have more pocket money (to waste on MS lolololol).

but really there is nothing good from smoking (or drinking too much for that matter), however it is a choice and if a person wants to or likes ot smoke i jave no issues with him doing it. lets face it everything might shorten our life. alcohol will, eating fatty food will, not getting enough sleep will.

bottom line, its your life and no one should tell you how to die it.

and cigarrillos is cigarrette in spanish so they the same thing.

You might look cool in a rap music video if you smoked but that's not the case.

Any tobacco -- chewing, cigar, cigarette, whatever -- will get you cancer. You DO get a spiffy choice between throat cancer, mouth cancer, and lung cancer. Wjeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

-Whatever you smoke in (car, house, etc) will smell like ass no matter WHAT you
do to try to stop it.

-Your non-smoking friends will generally be generally annoyed with you smoking in their vicinity regardless if they say otherwise.

-Everyone knows you just smoke to look cool, but then you have to not look cool because you are trying too hard

-If you HAVE to smoke at least use a pipe. Then we can call you Sherlock. Glitter

I think we should stop, we're hurting the poor guys feelings.

Even if you don't inhale into your lungs, you're still getting it in your mouth and on your lips. Do I need to scan some of my pics of Lip cancer outta my medical books? They are DELISH.

As a former smoker, I say don't even smoke cigars. They are stupid. As for menthols, that's just stupid. They have fiberglass in them. I'm sure your mouth is happy for the fiberglass you've put in it.

Smoking cigarettes vs cigars/cigarillos - Tremulant - 2009-10-18

jeez, you guys make such a big deal out of smoking. it's his choice, he knows the repercussions.

Smoking cigarettes vs cigars/cigarillos - VladTheLvr - 2009-10-18

I heard that they have an artificial and reusable cigarrette that converts nicotine to vapor form that you could breathe. It doesnt have tobbacco or any of that but you should look into it.

Smoking cigarettes vs cigars/cigarillos - Berzerk - 2009-10-18

Any way you slice it, smoking is bad for you. Knowing that something does you harm, and purposely doing it makes you a borderline idiot.
