I'll stick with Server 2003 as a personal Operating System til I see an actual need to upgrade.

EDIT: By the way, don't expect this to be heaven. There are still great compatibility issues with certain programs on 7, like Maplestory. Also, Microsoft has been known to rush things. Like all of there operating systems, this will probably not be that good til 6 months later.

I find it really funny that people rush to get Windows 7 like they did with Windows Vista, guess people don't learn do they?

However, Vista was almost as bad as ME.

MS has less issues in 7 than vista. In vista i would D/C at CKPQ after the warrior boss like i did with zak. In 7, i don't D/C. I still have to change my graphics at zak, but the fact that it isn't straining my already awesome hardware as much as it was in vista and the quick as f'uck booting times (from powered down to getting on the internet it takes me less than 2 minutes whereas on vista it would take 8+ minutes to get on the interwebz) is in itself reason enough to get it.

Getting Windows 7 soon. I had RC something installed on my desktop before and it fucked up my installation making me install from fresh. I hope this new release is better and hopefully stable.

My vista has a glitch with it's internet connecting. Vista doesn't take much longer compared to 7 in the time it takes to actually SEE THE DESKTOP, but vista takes a s'hit load of time to actually DO ANYTHING. 7 can get into the internet in less than 2 minutes on 7 which is a fraction of the time it takes vista to do the same with the exact same hardware.

I've had Vista for about one month now, no problems with it so far.
I don't see why people panic that much about it, you just have to get used to navigating but it's rediculously easy.

Personally, I can't wait to try out W7, but at the other side I don't want to dump Vista yet.
Windows XP is fine as long as you don't leave it at the standard theme in my opinion.

I'm using Windows 7 on my current system. It works wonderfully so far. The only thing incompatible is trying to connect to my brother's printer over the network (which I could do in XP..)

I have yet to try Zakum though because i'm either not on when the run is taking place, or the runners have went already when I'm on..

I still have XP on this comp for testing purposes/for stuff that doesn't work in 7. However, if you have like lots of new hardware nearly top of the line, I don't see why you would want XP. Also from what I heard, Server 2003/Windows XP x64 has very poor driver support.

Good-bye XP hello 7. I never had Vista do to the fear of failure. I'm going to wait till Christmas before upgrading. I want to see the majority comments on it, Southperry is to small to rely on. =x

People didn't really rush to get Vista. As for 7, it's a combination of being SHINY NEW OS, "not Vista", and positive PR.

After having Win7 Pro installed for a few weeks I would say that Win7 is definitely worth the upgrade from XP if you can afford it (in terms of legacy app support). Despite my comp not meeting the official minimum specs and no official Vista/7 support for my graphics controller I'd say 7 runs better than XP ever did.

Maybe you all should stop using crappy computers with less than 2 GB ram and try to turn of UAC before saying good riddance. Vista hasn't given me any problems as of now.

But yeah, I'm getting free Win7, but Win7 doesn't have alot of skins as of yet, so I'm doubting.

sorry that some people are comfortable with XP and all the positives it has, and dont want all the bad press of XP and thestill uncertain workings of 7, and sorry if some people cant afford to go out and by a computer when it is deemed obsolete by people who arent satisfied with being behind in the current technological society.

yes, 7 is new, but that doesnt make it perfect. you could be just coming out of a long term relationship with someone, and the first person to catch you on the rebound is a total wacko, but you still try to stick with them to work out their issues/quirks, which oft times isnt worth the effort and youre better off ditching them for someone better.

microsoft learned their lesson. just read all the reviews of 7. it's SOLID.

speaking of uac, sure it's annoying in vista but you shouldn't turn it off. it's really helpful. it's far less annoying in windows 7 but you can mess around with the settings:

Honestly, they shouldn't have made an operating system that requires even more resources. It makes more sense that over time the OS should get smaller, not larger. My desktop which can run XP decently wouldn't be able to run vista for pomegranate.

Increasing complexity and adding features doesn't make things smaller.
