Your Favorite Weather? - Razzberry - 2009-09-12

I love thunderstorms, especially when the electricity goes out.

Your Favorite Weather? - Melancholy - 2009-09-13

I like it foggy and cloudy, or very rainy.

Your Favorite Weather? - Myles - 2009-09-15

I like it when it's 28-30c, with a nice breeze.

That, or torrential rain.

don't you get tired of the rain in England?

The rain in England is pathetic. I like it so hard it nearly hurts.

I got soaked today, during college, it was uncomfortable, but if it was harder rain...

I love dry heat. Ya know, the type where it bakes you. Unfortunatly I live in maryland, where the heat is so wet that your balls are glued to your thigh the instant you walk outside.

I love Richter 9.2 earthquakes. They really shake things up.

Your Favorite Weather? - Berzerk - 2009-09-15

My favorite would be a nice, quiet night where it's snowing really hard. The second would be a thunderstorm. Boy, we got a few over the summer where it sounded like a train was going through my house. I loved it.

I love it while it's snowing, shoveling and trying to drive the next morning, not so much. Sad

Earthquake is not a weather.

And on that note 9.2 is nothing...

I like the 20+ when meteors hit planets, create moons, expose the outer core and let new life begin =D

Uh... I am fairly sure quake severity is measured on a scale from 1-10. Something like 9.2 would obliterate everything it affected. I dunno if earthquake is a "weather," but it is an act of nature comparable to a hurricane, (such as in your avatar,) a severe flood, or a severe wildfire, which if I am not mistaken are all covered on teh Weather Channel when they occur.

A massive meteor hitting this planet would not "begin new life," but rather obliterate most of the old life and force the remainiing life to adapt or die. A single meteor caused the ice age on our world, with side-effects like the dinosaurs going bye bye. I don't think something like that is comparable to even the most severe of normally-occuring natural disasters. If it were to occur again, billions of people would die, because not all nations are equipped to protect their citizens from something like that.

My, you didnt understand my post.
Im not talking about dinosaurs dying off and pomegranate.
Im talking about the same damn gigantic, huge, big-ass meteor of far unprecedented size that only happened

ONCE

In this planets life time

Im not talking about a mile wide meteor which causes an ice age and kills off a huge bunch of animals. Im not talking about a few billion dead people.

Im talking about a small-planet size meteor that smashes into the earth so hard, that lava flies miles out to space, that the core completely melts, and that it creates a debris field SO BIG that the debris will collect itself for years to create a new moon.

Im talking about ALL LIFE DISAPPEARING OF THE EARTH AND......

Quote:let new life begin

Oh and.
Just so you know.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richter_magnitude_scale

The scale goes 1- 10+

=)

Have you in your life ever heard of a quake even approaching 10?

The thing about the meteor is another one could happen TOMORROW. Not a very comforting thought, for me at least.

Heavy rain. Downpours. Thunderstorms. Drizzles/misty. Thick fog. Dreary days, gray sky all day, etc. Perfection.

I HATE the Summer. Anything over 70 degrees Fahrenheit bothers me (it's always 80-100 here in the Summer). I HATE wind, which is a huge problem here. Non-windy days are incredibly rare. You learn to appreciate them.

I HATE the Winter (but it's better than Summer). I love when everything freezes and dies (especially insects), but I hate blizzards, I hate snow and I hate the subzero cold. Living in the Dakotas is a great way to get the extremes. -50+ F Winter days to 110 F Summer days. Awesome...

Our Springs and Autumns are pretty dang nice, though. Lots of rain. 40-60 F temps. Makes it all worth it.

You should watch the movie Biodome. You'd love it in there. Glitter

Well I seen a movie called 10.5 (which graphically stimulates what a 10.5 earthquake would be like and you know what its like? I dont wanna spoil the movie so I will just say its pretty darn strong
 Spoiler
) and Im pretty sure that it hasn't happened anywhere in the near recorded history, and will probably will not happen save for a meteor hitting a fault line.

Nothing beats a really good snowfall that just blankets everything including sound. I was walking back to my dorm 3 years ago at around midnight and snow had started falling ~1 hr before. I had just gotten out of the gym and was already feeling pretty good... this made me so happy I went and danced on the roof of the performing arts center. Shine It was still snowing the next day and classes were canceled... for 2 days. First snow day(s) at the University of Illinois in 27 years. Glitter

Other than that.... I like rain. Nice calming rain like we got here yesterday. It was the first rain we've gotten in 21 days here. DIE SUNSHINE!! Oh, yeah.... I hate summer.
