you should do the right thing and report him, chances are that's not the first hack he's experimented with

He'll get caught on his own, there's no real need to do any reporting. Sprite hacking is extremely obvious, and I never see anybody doing it beyond 2x. That, or all the sprite hackers are just where I'm not.

I saw a level 52 wind archer afking at MP3 using the sprite thingy, 24 hours later i came back and he was still there, hacking and afk. level 52.
