An undiscussed aspect of Hammer + HT Pendant - byakugan - 2009-08-05 I thought the Vicious Hammer was something created by GMS. If using 3 eggs on a pendant was meant from the begining, I believe it would be Nexon Korea who'd release it first. Also why would they wait until just now to release it? why wouldnt they make an announcent concerning the HT pendants?. You're doing the same quest 3 times. for me that is a glitch. An undiscussed aspect of Hammer + HT Pendant - rayhovite - 2009-08-05 Actually you (as a people) agreed to that in the ToS. Nexon reserves the right to edit the game or ToS at any time with or without notice to the customer. A ToS can be rendered void in the court of law and force a company to change its behavior if found to be not following through with legal precedent. Does it strike anyone as funny or coincidental that the Vicious Hammer was included in this patch? It's not exactly logical in its inclusion with the other new features. It does indeed appear to be thrown in there. I will make the bold claim this has everything to do with the recent event regarding the meso generator and its abuse by well.....everyone that could lay their hands on it and sell mesos for ultra cheap. What better way to counteract this by not only banning all those you can track down, but releasing a feature such as Vicious Hammer that will increase the value of most items and as such pull the meso holders into a spending sink? I've been following the markets since the introduction of the VH, and there was definitely a lot of meso activity in the first few days.....many people buying items of worth upwards of 700m+. Things have slowed down. Supply is increasing but demand is slowing down, bringing prices down due to saturation of VH scrolled items, which will then result in a small spike of prices before temporary equillibrium. This seems somewhat planned, rather hastily. I will say that I don't think they really care[d] about the HT pendant situation. I will be surprised if they actually discuss it. Scroll away, boys. Nexon reserves the right to edit the game or ToS at any time with or without notice to the customer. You're missing the point completely, I think we all understand that legally, nexon can do what they want, when they want with their product. HOWEVER, as a RESPONSIBLE, multi-million corporation, they should take it upon themsleves to treat us, as a player/fanbase/CUSTOMER, with respect and have the decency to put more than a half assed effort into their customer support. Their ticketing system is a joke, and most of the time they respond with automated responses anyways. GM presence in game is so limited it's almost nonexistant. StringStrider Wrote:Eh, with regards to bugs they get about the same amount of Blue Posts as we do on the forums, WoW just has more cust service lackies than Nexon. Im sure Nexon > WoW. But Im also sure Blizzard > Nexon. Of course WoW has a lot of bugs, what MMO doesn't? The difference being that a GOOD company would routinely ANNOUNCE bugs they discover after patches, work to promtly fix them, all the while either telling players what to do or not do, or at least communicating to their customer base what they're doing about it. StringStrider Wrote:I understand that people get frustrated with companies because the service seems slow, but until we have someone who has worked for Nexon specifically tell us internal procedures, we will never be privy to why it takes them so long. People just assume they don't care. If they didn't care, they wouldn't have a support tab on their page. Technically they could put in the ToS a "Take it or leave it clause", and basically state that youre SoL if you don't like the service. Any service > No service at all. That's completely the wrong way to look at it. That's identical to a woman staying with an abusive boyfriend because "Any boyfriend > no boyfriend at all." It's quite obvious nexon doesn't care that much, the only reason they have a customer service tab it to give the illusion that they care. I bet not even 1% of the tickets nexon replies to was useful or relevent information. The people who respond to these tickets tend to not know a damn thing about the game, so they pick the closest topic they can find for an automated answer, and paste it in. An undiscussed aspect of Hammer + HT Pendant - modular - 2009-08-05 no. it doesnt need to be discussed. it IS a glitch. nexon will either say something about it or not. if they dont, people will abuse it to no end and it will become not-a-glitch the same way hp washing has. if they do, the people who take advantage now are lucky fucks. if those people arent banned. so take advantage of it now, while the getting is good. Oh I agree that Nexon customer service is bawls. But still. Theres no point in constantly giving grief because developers are totally seperate from Cx relations. Customer service is basically there to make you feel better. The only thing posting on forums about it does it stirs up sand. I just remain passive about everything. Things will fix themselves in time. The only customer service comparably worse to Nexon is Microsoft Tech Support. Atleast the Nexon lackies are in Cali. But that is another story in itself. If Nexon decided to shut down their game tomorrow, they very well could, it's within their rights. If Nexon decides to release a pair of permanant earrings that add 255 w.attk from an easily completable lvl 10 quest, they could and no one could stop them. It's their game. Part A and B are heavily different. Sure they could nerf/buff the game all day long. However they can't shut down their game and simply walk away. There would be a significantly large amount of financial compensation necessary, or a class action lawsuit would be easily formed and won. So yes it is within their ability, but most definitely not within their rights unless they want to answer to their actions in a legal world. Actually, I do believe in the ToS we agreed to we gave them permission to delete or modify our accounts at will, to include closing the game entirely by extension. Imagine they argue that they are bankrupt. No refunds whatsoever. This isn't the first ToS of this kind, and based on court rulings, not a single company has walked away from shutting down at will without financially answering to customers/partners/etc. Can you imagine the kind of hell this country would be in if companies got away with a ToS like this? Come now, let's not be so naive. Nexon won't be able to argue bankruptcy since they make enough money even in recession periods. As a nice example, Ijji's ToS is strikingly similar to Nexon's in this regard. And their license with GB gave them any right to shut the game down and let the license expire. But they didn't, despite the fact they were losing a ton of money on the game (it was dying and noone gave a damn about their premium features). They provided compensation and allowed for a smooth account transfer back to the GB parent company. You know why? Despite what ToS may have you believe, it is near impossible to truly get away with it. Don't say it's because they're pay to play, we all know nexon makes more than WoW does. this is news to me... Maybe worldwide all publishers of maplestory make more money then WoW, but even though Maple makes more, on average, per person then WoW, I figured WoW is by far the more popular game. According to quick google search there are 10 million + WoW subsricbers, that is.... 15 a month * 10mil = 150 mil a month * 12 = 1.8 bil a year... I might believe it if the profitted more from MS then WoW did, but that'd be because of the whole "horrible/short staffed customer service" in my opinion. So how much income(not straight profit) does Maple make per year? Is it over 1.8 billion? An undiscussed aspect of Hammer + HT Pendant - FluffyFoxxie - 2009-08-05 Sivrat Wrote:this is news to me... Just because their PR says they make such and such amount of money doesn't mean it's real earnings. Keep in mind accounting tricks let companies look like they made more than they really did. An undiscussed aspect of Hammer + HT Pendant - rayhovite - 2009-08-05 Nexon's offices have a lot of nice Maple-related stuff they will never sell in the US. At least that's what NxProse informed me during an interview. An undiscussed aspect of Hammer + HT Pendant - Takebacker - 2009-08-05 rayhovite Wrote:Don't expect real answers anytime soon. I believe nexon did say that they recieved 200m (PER MONTH) net revenue in 2007 though, before nexon cards and iTCG. |
