Wow, Nexon makes quite a bit of money. - KajitiSouls - 2009-06-09 Kortestanov Wrote:note how nexon america or any other nexon besides korea is not even there. I'd think it's because that's the main company? Also, Nexon charges international licensing for localized versions of MapleStory. That's what I'm told anyways. A Final Fantasy game comes out. Final Fantasy series have a rabid following, the games sell out, others eagerly wait to get a copy, the stores are restocked, and eventually everyone has it. And that's all. There are only so many Final Fantasy fans, granted there are millions of them, but each needs ONE game. Final Fantasy 7 is considered a classic, but honestly, if a FF fan already has one Final Fantasy 7, there are fairly few circumstances under which he'll buy another; and at this point, it would be eBay benefitting from that, not Square. Compare that to Nexon or Blizzard. With Nexon, a person plays Maple for like 3 years, charging NX which probably adds up to AT LEAST the purchase of several Final Fantasies. Some people who play Maple charge thousands of dollars in NX. With Blizzard, the 15 dollar monthly subscription fee + the one time purchase of the WoW game for each person ALSO adds up to more htan a single Final Fantasy. It's logical that Square makes less money than Nexon or Blizzard. Wow, Nexon makes quite a bit of money. - Judgment - 2009-06-09 Wow. Nexon also made more money than the EA Sims division out of all things. And I'm sure we all know how much of a hit The Sims series still is, even though the newer Sims game/EP releases have been quite lacking. |
