The sunshine itself is more or less a lie.

The tree growth is time-throttled in 3-5 minute intervals.
If it's had some activity in the past 5 minutes, it'll grow to the next stage.
If it hasn't, it'll wait till the next interval and check again.

Over all it takes about 30 minutes per cycle regardless of how much you feed them. I tried this same 10k test on day 1 to see if it was truly using volume or time, then timed it.

That doesnt explain the double bar growth he experienced, and I can tell you that sunshine is constantly being turned in across the mapleverse, so that would explain the constant but uneven growth.

What double bar growth?
Quote:I used all 10689 suns at once when the tree was at 1 bar. It went up to 2 bars T_T.

2 - 1 = 1

Anyhow, the growth is very simple. It has a minimum threshold it has to reach to grow, but anything beyond that threshold is ignored and wasted. That coupled with the time throttle make it a very simple system that gives every world an equal chance of feeling of "accomplishment".

So I'm better off npcing my Sunshine or selling it in the Fm?

Personally I recommend saving it and popping 100 to 1000 in every 5 minutes during slow periods, like right now. To see at which point you make a continual noticable difference in tree growth.

At the very least keeping the sunshine gives you the ability to expidite slow periods if used correctly, there's just no value in hundreds of people dropping 10k chunks in at the same time.

Who wants to test out 1 Shine per 1 minute? >_>

that might just work... also if the OP donated 1k shines at a time maybe that might work

Wait, if theres a maximum time it takes the tree to grow, should'nt there be a minimum?
