I am willing to given Nexon the benefit of the doubt. They have been ramping things up and I believe they are serious on improving there product. They have a new boss, lets not judge him by the old regime.

 Spoiler
Things they've started doing since I filed this:
  • Listing changes before a patch goes in.
  • Listing intended fixes for a SC
  • Focus Groups
  • Updated monster info on website (altho not by much).
  • Self policing via deputies now?
  • Bringing back tespia

That's an impressive level of coincidence there.

The fact that that's probably one of the best feedback tickets they've ever seen just adds on to that, lol.

Ironic that the picture is called "NexonYouSuck2" though, lol.

LOL
Actually it's NexonYouSuck1 and NexonYouSuck2

Couldn't get whole screen on laptop so had it break it in two pieces and put in a NexonYouSuck folder.

It was an accurate descriptive at the time Biggrin

I'm starting to respect them. Scary.

They forgot the other part of making Tespia a useful tool...

fix the glitches and bugs people report. It's a waste of time if they run it for a week, and then do the regular patch without fixing anything.

I mean sure it "spoils" their exciting new content... but so does riddling it with unplayability bugs, so all the average players see is screenshots from the 1 lucky group who got to do the new PQ before it glitched.

I wonder if Mr.Korn Actually plays maple (lol NxDefender)

So who here will have the guts to snitch on PSes? I never seen a game where players are asked to snitch....

How do you know NxDefender = Korn? O_O

On the flip side i've never seen a game where players are asked to not snitch. Rolleyes

He's going by the "NxDefender (legal)".
Since lloyd is the only legal defense we've seen... assumption is NxDefender = Kornball.

New Beginnings - An Open Letter to Our Community - Rob - 2009-04-17

nvm edited out. DELETE post.

Edit:Stupid Lag....

Probably because of this

Quote:NxDefender (legal)
There is only one lawyer we know and that is Lloyd Korn who gave us a freaking DMCA notice last year =(. The only instances of snitching in a game I have seen is reporting hackers. I haven't seen snitching to companies because of ROMs, ISOs, PSes, etc.

New Beginnings - An Open Letter to Our Community - Takebacker - 2009-04-17

I well i know about korn and the DMCA and fiel and all that crap. Assuming that their ONLY lawyer is also a GM is one crazy team though. O_o

Someone take a memo:
"My hat off to them, and my congrats."

Now read that back to me.

New Beginnings - An Open Letter to Our Community - Sarah - 2009-04-17

rofl, not to sound conceited but I mentioned most if not ALL of these solutions on the nexon forums within the last month.

Say hello to your new CEO, guys.

edit: oh yeah you're all banned. Nexon doesn't co-operate with "fan" sites.

Cyanne Wrote:Ariant's in Ossyria, lol. The Volunteer Deputy thing sounds interesting though, and it's good that they've finally figured out how to deal with the Tespia thing.

Well, they kind of already had the same policy for Tespia, but, it didn't seem like they stuck to it very well.

But seriously. O.O. This is epic. If they fulfill this....WOW.

Well, maybe nexon will reward people who report the most servers. Who knows, there's a whole bunch of servers that I could tell them right now. Or even better, just give them a site chock-full of server names. Doing something good for Nexon might cause something good to happen to us maplestory players. That my friend is called good karma.

What this gentleman said.

I didn't see anything in the letter addressing false bans, either. I'm becoming more and more paranoid about seriously training my Marauder. Goggleemoticon

Although it's hardly even possible, I'll bask in some happiness for Tespia returning. Perhaps the essay I wrote them was read, or maybe enough people have requested it. Either way, they're taking the right route here. Let's see if they can execute.

I'm hopeful, but not expectant.

New Beginnings - An Open Letter to Our Community - Icedfire - 2009-04-17

I'm not suprised. Compared to a year ago, everything they've been doing is a MASSIVE improvement. Whatever changes they've made in policy and company is certainly showing.

I don't think grabbing players right from In-Game would be the greatest idea... Although I doubt they'd do it, it would be better to grab people like IsaacGS, KazooTheBat or Kevvl off of the fan websites to do a moderating job.

Where does Kevvl moderate?

I wouldn't say moderators in general, i'd just say helpful people in the maple community in general. Aka all of southperry. Cool

He doesn't. I never said anything about taking the mods of the websites themselves (people like bokuwomar on basil have quit long ago, and likely have no desire), which is specifically why I mentioned Kevvl. He is one of the most helpful people I've seen.

I could easily see Stereo and Eos being mods from here.

For some reason, making Fiel a mod would be completely hilarious. Come, join the ironic laughter at that thought =p

Aya, he's also terribly annoying. I wouldn't want Kazoo or Kevvl, honestly. People like Stereo and Eos I could see. But please, not those two.
