Because gear upgrades in Maple aren't about taking down bosses with a group, they're either about dicking around in the Free Market all the time or spending a couple thousand dollars in real life, and then throwing all your money at one item, hoping for that 0.0056% chance it doesn't blow up. I mean, sure it is a great concept, a party play area with high HP monsters that grant bonus EXP to 6-member parties... basically an instanced LHC with different areas... but... Why not make these party play areas take place in the ACTUAL areas of the game, not by clicking an NPC from any town... Leveling at LHC has been one of the most satisfying experiences I've had on maple for years. Doing it with randoms is fun, and doing it with friends is even better. You get to at least do some team work and check out other classes skills at your side... it keeps things interesting as opposed to soloing ToT maps pre-BB, or dividing a Skeles map for 2 people. But also... part of that experience is also going to the actual place. Going up to LHC, have it feel like a dangerous high level place, search for people, the thrill of it being a special area away from towns, etc. That gave it feeling. They were in the right direction by making more party play areas in Ellin Forest and Future Henesys. I can only imagine now how epic it was to travel to future Henesys to party play with other high leveled people... But now? Want the best exp? Oh hai, click this magical NPC and do timed runs on these minirooms we got. When you get sick of it you can travel the actual Maple world for crappier exp... Happy Mapling! I mean, gee... it would be EASIER to make party play areas on the actual game maps, instead of creating instanced maps and creating 2 separate versions of the same mob... I read both of your posts, and I'm like... what the hell really is our role? We're supposed to be support right? And yet we should be able to hold our own as much as other mage classes (especially vs. holy-weak mobs), right? What really is the right answer? Make us more balanced and worth it, or make the game mechanics more balanced and worth it for us? Or is both achievable, and how? Maybe we should throw out everything and start anew. Oh wait... that's what MapleStory 2 is for... maybe...
