By the way, I added most of the people on the first post to my Friends List, my NN username is Polantaris like it is here.

Added you to my miiverse and to the list, but just as a by the by, it works a little better if you add people through miiverse! IT sends the person a miiverse request to let them know you've added them (Whereas otherwise, they would get no such notification, if you add them through the friends list).

It's a weird system.

That's silly. I didn't know that. I originally tried to add someone via Miiverse, but then it yelled at me that I hadn't enabled the Friends List yet (lolwhat?), so I did it all from there since it was open.

Thanks for the info though.

Also, as a news update, MH3U demos are available for both 3DS and Wii U, if anyone is interested in them.

Is the ZombiU pack worth it? I mainly want it for the pro controller, since I've heard reports that the Monster Hunter demo was a pineappleton better with it, and I could probably make a little money back if ZombiU is worth anything. Only problem is that it puts a bigger dent in my budget than I woulda thunk.

To those who played the demo with the normal WiiU controller:
How'd it feel? Was it awkward? Could you do everything you needed to do to murder the hell out of the monster without getting a cramp?

Tried Monster Hunter 3. Only one question: How the fuk do I lock on a monster?

You can't lock on a monster.

That's one of the reasons I love MH because I hate auto target/lock.

well, I'm new at these type of games. I got myself nearly killed at my first monster.

You'll get the hang of it. Don't try to face roll everything and time your rolls/side(back)steps, they are your best friends. After you figure out the movements of larger monsters you'll have an easier time dodging and knowing when it's safe to attack.

How's the Wii U Gamepad for MH3U? Or ZombiU?

Never played ZombiU, but for MH3U...It felt great, really. It was pretty comfortable, I can see myself using the gamepad to play for a long period of time. I never really looked at the touchscreen, though, but the controller fits pretty comfortably in your hands. It definitely will take some adjusting because of the completely different feel of it, but it's not something that's uncomfortable, just different. The buttons are well placed too, actually slightly better than the CCPu, because the analog for camera is in just the right spot that people who remember clawing on the PSP will be at home in a way. You can definitely control the camera while doing other stuff on the same side of the controller, which works great.

I just hope they make ZL/R control the camera too in the full game, it will be a life saver.

The biggest hurdle in Monster Hunter is your first real monster, which in the Demo's case is the Lagombi. It's a completely different experience compared to any other game, really. Once you learn to pay attention to the monster's movements, because they are important, you learn a lot. Really the largest issue most people have is learning when to attack, and that it's often best to avoid attacks instead of attacking yourself.

Monster Hunter is a hell of a lot easier to learn now than it was before Tri. In the old engine, weapons were far less...open ended I guess you could say. They are far more open to letting you dodge mid combo, and the monsters are far more predictable. Overall I would say the game is easier than it used to be, but that doesn't mean it's worse. It's definitely a lot easier to learn though. By far. And with them re-adding the old weapons they removed for no damn reason, there's so many options that you will definitely find a weapon type you like.

OH BOY, TIME TO HEAR PEOPLE WHINING ABOUT CLAWING.

and @Aroll

It takes time, but the end is worth it. Once you get experienced enough with your weapon(s) of choice, you can pretty much take out any monster in the game on your first shot.

I've always wanted to get into Monster Hunter, but...

There's so much peaching about things on Monster Hunter that it's hard to care anymore unless they're completely valid complaints.

Looks decent, the trailers are pretty hilarious, especially the Prison trailer, if you're seen The Shawshank Redemption.

Quote:Square Enix will be showing off a slew of highly anticipated games at PAX East this year, one of which is a currently unannounced Wii U title. In a invite sent to us today, they gave no clue as to what it could be, but we're certainly anxious to find out.

PAX East is in 10 days, on the 22nd through to the 24th of march.

So, everyone ready to get hype!?! Final fantasy 13 on wii u? Crystal chronicles?!? Dragon Quest!?!? The World Ends with U?!!?!?!?!

 Spoiler

Okayso, bits of the screen on my TV aren't showing. Apparently its an issue with my TV and not the software. Grump grump.

Lozmaster Wrote:Dragon Quest!?!?

ACTUALLY, it could very well be a DQX localization announcement.

I would be ecstatic. That game looks fantastic. I wouldn't even care if it was still P2P although I doubt that considering how DQ is not nearly as popular here as it is in Japan.

I would also love a DQ7 3DS localization announcement, although that's not a Wii U title obviously. Would still love it, it looks as good as DQ5 PS2 was.

See if there's one of those Screen Fill options enabled. Though it could completely and utterly be the TV without one on. My grandfather has a TV that just stretches any signal for no reason what so ever and there's no way to get it to fit properly on the screen, even with cable.

Why do TVs have enlarging options but not shrinking?

Maybe. Stay positive! I think I'd prefer a wii u version of final fantasy 13-3 or kingdom hearts remix1.5, but I'd settle for anything thats not a 2 year old port...

Vizio, why your TVs so uncustomizable? Oh well, the slightly chopped screen didn't hamper anything major.

NNID: Porktrocious

Polantaris Wrote:Why do TVs have enlarging options but not shrinking?

Uh? They normally do, because they're essentially the same thing. There isn't a specific "size" of the image that is on a bluray/game disc/whatever which is then shrunk or scaled to the tv, it's probably the aspect ratio of the tv which is causing the problem. Tv companies basically have two choices if the tv they sell doesn't match the aspect ratio of the image being displayed: black bars on the top and bottom, or cut parts of the images off on the sides. Sad Not a lot you can do about it for most tvs either.
