Ask a Pirate Thread - Evilince - 2008-11-05
I have a quick quesion that may have been asked before but I haven't really seen it. There are a lot of people including myself who are leveling their pirate-to-be to lvl 29 and 99%. I know you don't miss out on SP and you get it all back when you advance but my quesion is, why not stop at 30 and 99%? You still aren't missing the first lvl up with the HP up skill.

You are losing out on tons of base HP. While thats always bad, its especially bad if you are going to be a Gunslinger.

[SIZE="1"]Ok My Pre-Pirate is level10 at 99%. And it is going to be a Infighter/Brawler whatever you wanna call it.
The only equips I have for it now are 8att Work gloves and a 2att 6str PAC.
What are some suggestions you can give me to get better equips for it. Since I'm pretty new to the whole Pirate craze...(I just decided to make a pirate yesterday..
)Now I am contemplating about which build I should take, NormalDex or LowDex.
IF I go LowDex would it basically be the same way for going low luk on a mage? (Capping luk to wear a Doomsday) Or wearing Dex equips instead of raising the base dex.
Also what Knuckle would be best for going low dex.
I have also been thinking on whether or not I should get the exchange quest items. I'm a little short on money right now..(Though I could get some money by selling my equips) I would really know how much it would all cost.
So if you have the exchange quest items how much money did you spend on them and how many sets.
Also....I am a big Cash shop person...so I'm a little confused on how some of the weapons are going to work with the Knuckles. I hear that they are 2handed weapons is that true?

Well It's only a loss of 100-150hp, which is nothing if you are going brawler as I am. Besides, 1 lvl of washing and you got it back. Personally I don't mind, which is why I have no problem with leveling to 29 and 99%.

There's also a loss of a very significant amount of MP, severely impacting your ability to HP wash in the first place.

What, 12ish mp? Seeing as you would only need to wash 3 time. Somehow I don't think 12 MP is going to matter that much, easy to get that back to with decent int equips anyways. I know what I am getting myself into by leveling to 29 and 99%. Anyways, can we get back to the question I originaly asked.

Its really any common class equip you can make now. Dex/Str overall, bamboo hat until 50 and what not.

I believe that low dex would be capping while a normal dex is the latter of your suggestion. Its just if you're more funded then your base dex will be lower than others. If you're going to cap dex then choose a high level knuckle that will be easy to scroll like how low dex dits cap at blood dagger.

I don't know about exchange quest items, I wouldn't spend money on that unless I farmed it myself. I chose to collect Moon bunny's rice cakes to level to 21.

Also to Evilince, I think its just superstition or myth that keeps them from going over to 29.99%. By all means go for it.

It's more like 100ish if i remember correctly, but if you say so...
The reason we're not answering is because we don't really know what happens after level 30. We know the SP gets returned for 1st job, but not for 2nd. We also don't know what happens in terms of HP increases.

Well Im guessing that washing for a brawler will be similar to washing for a warrior and in that case, each wash only takes 4 MP off, and that comes from experience after heavily washing my DrK

TBH, there's no real point. Takes 3~7 days to get to 30 for average person, you can CPQ to 51, then at that point it's pure training unless you opq or lmpq. From there you can play "catch up" to the hyped up people who will most likely slow down or quit.
People are sprinting their characters but just like a sprinter, they can only go a short distance compared to long distance runners who start out slower but end up farther.

Well, I wouldn't say all sprinters can only go a short distance. I know a few people who have re-made and pretty much sprinted all the way to 150+, and are still going. Besides its not necessarily about getting the lead so you can sprint off, getting to 30 now makes it less boring IMO, I always hated the 1-30 lvls. If anything made me stop it was that.

Well yes if you did it after pirates was released, but I have been taking my time for a month. Beginners level just as fast in pq as any other class :p.

Nop, like 2 or 3 people in ch1 everytime I go there. I get a friend or two to come along, make them capture and then blow themselves up near the end and let me collect all xD.
