Unless Victini is available otherwise in X&Y.

Let's be realistic, it won't be.

I think it's more likely that Ribbons might be making a return and an eevee can evolve into that after earning a certain amount (possibly two, since it wears two ribbons) of them, or a specific ribbon.

Contestvee with sparkles and Encore?

What i wish the most for in X&Y gotta be easy and EV and IV tracking, make it a key item and easy resetting of EV.

Pokémon X and Pokémon Y - Kojo - 2013-02-13

I just want them to overhaul IVs so that they only affect Hidden Power. I dislike IVs a lot. All they do is make one Pokemon objectively worse than another and make it time consuming to breed good s'hit.

I just wish they'd kill the EV system altogether. I like the IV's but the EV's just feel meh.

Pokémon X and Pokémon Y - Kojo - 2013-02-13

^Really? I think EVs are good because they let you choose how to raise your Pokemon and add to team building strategy. IVs just make things time consuming and a Pokemon with say, 20/20/20/20/20/20 IVs is ALWAYS going to be worse than one of the same species/nature with 31/31/31/31/31/31

I feel the other way around, EVs are good, allows for customization and they can already be resat and natures are cool as well.
But IV? I really dislike them :/ They're far too random for my tastes.

With EVs i can decide to specialize my Eelektross in Attack or Special attack, with IVs it's pretty random which is going to have the higher IV number.
EVs can be handled and taken care of without having to breed and catch multiple of the same pokémon or having hundreds(hyperbole) of dittos ready and so on.

I think it's pretty retarded though to have to reset your EV's after you've already trained a Pokemon from level 1 though near the beginning of the game. You never have to worry about resetting IV's. They are just done when you catch the Pokemon. It discourages you from training many types of Pokemon because it's so time consuming to EV train. You are forced to get a Macho Brace and use Pokerus most of the time. If I didn't have to worry about EV training, I'd enjoy the game a lot more.

Sylv? We're supposed to guess it's type based on that? All the others are really clear.

Jolteon
Vaporeon
Flareeon
Umbreon
Espeon
Leafeon
Glaceon

Is it supposed to be a pun on Silver? Like a steel type? o_o

Pokémon X and Pokémon Y - Kojo - 2013-02-14

I'm guessing either Normal or a new type. Nothing else fits well enough. Bug sorta kinda fits because of the meaning behind "sylva," but if it were Bug I think they would have made it more painfully obvious like every other Eeveelution.

But, IVs CAN NOT BE RESAT. If they could be controlled by the player it'd be a good mechanic, but instead they are random as pineapple and the best you have is a guy telling you what your pokémons highest IV is.
The first time i play through the game i don't worry about EVs at all, because very simply, i can't and wont try to control the IVs, if you aren't going to perfect IV then why care about perfect EV? You don't need EV training to beat the game at all. Just like you don't need perfect IVs, but you need perfect IVs and perfect EVs for competitive play. And EV training is the least frustrating of the two to m

IVs encourage you to breed and catch hundreds of pokémon.
EV encourage you to train a pokémon versus the correct pokémon that corresponds to what you want the pokémon to have higher EVs in. And seeing that i have to train my pokémon either way, EV is by far the more relaxing of the two. You even have items that allow you to reset your EVs easily along with the new shop thingy, and those shops also allow you to increase EVs easily along with stuff like protein and so on that allows to get 100 in a single EV stat near instantly, and money really isn't a problem in the newest versions of pokémon.

The odds of the pokémon you train from level 1 having perfect IVs are next to none, atleast you CAN redo the EVs.

Could be flying. Sylv ~ Sylph , which are air elementals.

Probably grasping at straws with that idea though.

Pokémon X and Pokémon Y - Kojo - 2013-02-14

Also, another thing to support my "it's normal type" point is that its german name is related to 'fairy.' Clefairy and Snubbull. Both related to fairies. Both pink. Both normal type.

Pokémon X and Pokémon Y - Justin - 2013-02-14

I'm kinda hoping sylveon is flying type, simply because there are so god damn few pure flying types in the game as is. They always have freaking normal type as the sub. :|

Pokémon X and Pokémon Y - Kirov - 2013-02-14

I wasn't a big fan of the art but i must admit it looks alright in the game footage.

Pokémon X and Pokémon Y - Razmos - 2013-02-14

I really hope it isn't Normal type, that would be incredibly boring.
anyway
Quote:Experienced Pokémon Trainers know that Eevee can evolve into seven different types, and now a new Eevee evolution with a different type has been revealed! What type is Sylveon? You'll have to wait to find out!
seems to suggest it's a type not used for the eevee line yet. So hopefully not Normal type.

EDIT:
Quote: Ninfia, the newest evolution of the Pokémon, Eevee, shall be known in English as Sylveon, with its German name being Feelinara and French being Nymphali.

So it's definitely based on a Nymph.

Pokémon X and Pokémon Y - Jedward - 2013-02-14

Well, it definitely used Swift last. Anyone else want to take shots at Sylveon's moves?

Also, when I saw its name I definitely thought Normal.

Double Edge, Trump Card, Wish, and Swift in that order.
