EDIT: I meant Ranged DPS >_>

Ranged DPS its the most bullshiting thing you can encounter during laning if you are a melee champ (Especially true if you don't have a ranged skill). At least with casters they have a downtime where their skills are in CD (Especially true at lvl 1-3), But with ranged DPS you are constantly being force to run back behind your minions/towers since they keep attacking you the moment you enter their Range of fire.

I once lost a game because of a caitlyn the virtually didn't let me last hit minions and even went so far as to push me behind my tower making me lose exp.

@ Kaj: You might want to add that if you harass a Twitch correctly, he can't farm for crap. I can say this from my own experiences. Rolleyes

But you can also say that if positioned correctly, and with enough support, he can perform assassination missions as soon as he has farmed enough (at least Level 5. Though Level 6 and beyond is recommended as Spray and Pray helps with ensuring that the prey doesn't get away)

Making it short here:

Early game: Still trying to find ways to counter that Brand. While I did my best at dodging, the spell combos he unleashed are just annoying, especially when I get the burn debuff from him. I overextended a few times, and get ganked but managed to fight my way out. Slow start for me. I was 0-0-0 by the time this phase ended.

Mid game: Enemy WW starts dominating and goes on a 10-kill streak. Luckily, we managed to still win teamfights. By this time, teamfights were happening all over the place. At one point, I decided to push top, but they ganked me. Luckily, I had lots of resistance and my teammates came just in time to save me. Had no kills, no deaths, but 1-2 assists by then. We pushed towers whenever we could.

Late game: Things started turning around. I decided to simply wade in and dare the enemy to target me. I was at full stacks and Level 16+, so heck why not draw fire for my team? At this point I started to eat whoever I could get my hands on; 3 of my kills were from Feasting. The enemy went to Baron, but our Shen was there overlooking over that area, so he managed to go in and force them out. Then we proceeded to kill a few during the teamfight that ensured, and push their towers. Then we went to Baron ourselves, got it, and just started pushing hard. They decided to surrender after that.
I wanna try almost every champion this week! I've tried some before but many I've never used.
Tried Karthus and Brand.
Didn't like karthus, maybe the game wasn't good really. LOVED brand, but maybe the game was good... gotta try more brand for now and maybe more karthus.

Edit: Ugh free weeks kill me, I wanna buy so many champions right now because of past free weeks, really want Nidalee and Cait, for a long time I've wantd singed or cho, and now I'll try Kog and feel like I'll like him, also played brand once only and loved him so I'll probably want to buy him...

Original League of Legends (LoL) Thread - FenixR - 2011-04-26

Brand is good. Stack CDR and you have a 3.4sec seer, 6sec confraglation and pilar of fire. The combo capabilities of Brand are good, Start with E then Q and W for single targets and Q Then E on the aflame enemy and finish with W for massive AOE damage.

I saw pyroclasp in action and i must say, the skill SUCKS near minions since you can't control the bounces and you only have 5 tries, But use it when there are only 2-3 enemy champs and you have a super raper skill, also the bounce range isn't that big so i kinda sucks sometimes.

The best thing i saw is that the innate refreshes with every skill, i thought it would be kinda like lux where the innate consumed itself after hitting with a normal attack, so using 1 skill to setup for the other 2 extra skills effects are super cool for lack of a better word XD.

That's a given for some melee champs and Sivir. Amumu and Rammus don't ring any bells for you?

Karthus takes a bit of experience to get used to. I tried him out as well and I know I did poorly. His q is excellent, but it takes a lot to get used to it, and having to constantly move while trying to cast it and avoid enemy skillshots and whatnot was pretty tough. I missed with his R a bunch of times as well. If you can play him well, he's quite powerful, but he requires more skill and experience than most champions do imo.

Just to add something on top of what E6 said:

Manu, make sure you max out Q ASAP. That thing will be your ticket to everything Karthus. You can farm with that skill (last hitting is always good; you can get some mana back with the passive from your E skill), AND you can harass whoever you're laning against with that skill. But of course, it does take some practice to skillshot correctly.

Its CD is very, very miniscule, (<1 seconds) so you can pretty much spam it. Mana cost shouldn't be a problem when you use that skill, unless you decide to spam it 24/7.

And of course, when your ult comes up, you have to know when to use it. Its not fun when you nuke someone and they have some health left after that. Karthus's Requiem is meant to terrorize those who have very, very low health.

It's not exactly hard to turn the tables on them, especially if you have a gapcloser.

Remind me to get Purp to post in here tomorrow morning, he's pretty good with Karth.

Alistar gets stunned for .5 seconds thanks to his new passive. Utter failure! He now sucks a lot.

Fiddlesticks is confirmed to suck. For unknown reasons before his remake, Riot thought he was OP. I certainly haven't heard anything.

GP is also said to suck by forumgoers. If only they inversely scaled the slow on his ult appropriately with its size... imo that's where Riot screwed up.

I could let them slide by with the GP remake (yay no more denies!) but holy crap what were they thinking on the other two?

I heard that his "Trample" only does 10 damage per hit, which is lulzy. wtp is Riot thinking!?

@ Bolded: Wt'f?

Me and Phoenix + 3 of my IRL friends

Long story short, me and Phoenix carried very nicely the entire game. By middle game phase, I started to carry out assassination missions at will, with teammate support of course. Though at times, I was caught out of position. FML. Sad

Late game phase, we got their base turret and inhibitor. Went for a visit to Baron, then came back to push more. Of course, I unloaded my destruction upon the enemy team, but again, I was in a semi-protected position and was pretty much countered. So much for positioning. Gotta work on that. Frown

And by that time, the other team was screwed as hell. Me and Phoenix were sufficiently fed enough to pretty much wreck havoc whenever we wished.

Fed rats are very beautiful. Only if they lived to tell the story another day. Frown

I do like the increased range on his q though. Even if the duration was decreased, it's easier to hit with it now, and that means it's easier to gank with him. I like the idea of his passive too, it makes sense that he'd plow into his opponents, it's just too bad it's still so terrible. I think it should be changed from damage to a knock back and slow like Maokai's w though. However, rather than push you forward, you get pushed to one side or the other. I think that'd add even more utility to his already impressive arsenal, but maybe that'd be op. Of course you could give it a cooldown, so he can only have it active once ever x number of seconds, but I doubt they'll do more than tweak the base numbers of it at this point. Anyway, I agree with you about the fail with him. He's still a great roamer and all, but his effectiveness as such took a pretty hard hit this patch.

Haven't tried Fiddle yet, but I had heard forum qq about it already. Guessing next patch they'll buff the ratios and maybe put the number of silence bounces back up some to 7 or 8, and/or change it so it champions take higher priority on bounces than minions. I might give hima try in a Co op game just to get an idea of how bad it really is, but I'd probably have to do a real game to get any real info on how badly the nerfs affected him.

As for GP, don't have him, but from what I've seen, he's almost as useful as he previously was, just a good deal weaker. Guessing they'll need to buff his stuff as well. Honestly I think they should make his ult stun if you get hit while in it. The slow is nice and all, but with the smaller range, I don't think increasing the slow amount is going to fix things. I mean, it doesn't have to be an uber long stun, but even a short stun would make it incredibly useful in team fights/turret dives, and actually not be op given the smaller radius and rng nature of it. Probably should buff his raise morale a bit too so it's actually a noticable buff. I think it should boost minions as well as champions. Combined, the two would turn him into a tower pusher, and I think that'd be pretty good. Also the raise morale affecting minions would bring back part of the whole denying idea, without it denying exp/gold. Effectively you could make your minions stronger so they push out, or not use it around them and let the other minions push yours back, without ruining the levels and experience of the enemy.

TLDR version: Next patch will probably have buffs for the nerfed champions . . . hopefully anyway.

Edit: Also Xin seems to be sitting pretty well after the buffs from this patch, at least from what I've seen/played, though it'll probably take a little while to tell whether he's balanced, still a bit up, or a bit op. Personally I'm leaning towards balanced, but I'm not a regular Xin player, and I didn't play him a ton pre nerfs either, so any improvements from his nerfs are going to make me feel better about him.

21 Defense Masteries. Merc Treads, Triforce. Off-tank Assassin. Not the best team fight player.

She's godly at cleanup after all the major skills have been used and people are fairly low, and also quite good at chasing fleeing enemy champions unless they have a flash type ability. It's a good idea to pick up some lifesteal and a Spirit Visage on her too, or at least a Spirit Visage, since it makes her ult and regular attacks heal her slightly more, while lowering her skills cds. Generally that means she's in the fight longer with more stun/burst on people. As for a build, I typically go Doran's Shield -> Sheen -> Boots -> Phage -> Merc Treads -> Zeal -> Tri Force -> Spirit Visage -> FoN/Sunfire Cape -> B Veil/GA -> Bloodthirster/Hextech Gunblade

Of course I'm not a super experienced Irelia player, so you can take my build with a grain of salt, but I like to build her tankier first, then up her survivability via lifesteal late game, albeit if you're doing well, you'll mostly just reach a bit beyond the SV as far as your build goes.

Godly at cleanup? Not entirely.

Pretty much anything goes after the two core items (don't build AP), although building her tanky is generally a good way to go.
