Original General Dungeon Fighter Thread - mrcowcow - 2010-04-12 I wonder if I can actually run dungeons with my Trailblazer title after I advance. That'll be pretty nifty to be running around with that title while kicking butt with Scud Genocide. Original General Dungeon Fighter Thread - Kevin - 2010-04-12 Shadow Trainer Wrote:I think I suck at playing this game because the quests that require me to get X amount of Style/Technique percentages doesn't even come close to the quota. Are those quests worth doing and if they are, do I have to do them ASAP?Lol, we've all been there. Easiest to get through those is to just party up with other people. Style - 5+ combos and aerial attacks raise this. Just focus on aerials and you'll have a high style score. All classes get a launching move, for priests its giant weap launcher, so use that to launch things into the air then start punching them. Just do this over and over and you'll get high style. Technique - counter attacks, back attacks, overkills. I think as a priest you might be able to overkill things using smasher and furious grab since those do a lot for low levels. Not sure if there's a skill you can abuse to get counters/back attacks but just keep punching monsters and this should go up eventually. And yes almost every quest in this game is worth doing if only for exp/gold. Those particular quests though you should try to get done, since there are around 11 in the series for each npc (GSD, Kiri, Kargon, Pungjin) and you need to finish them all to get a title. Last round of quests is at lvl 25. If you don't do a quest within 6 levels of receiving it the quest name will turn green and you'll get reduced rewards from it, so it's better to just do them. On my first character I skipped a bunch so I was leveling slower than I should've been. Original General Dungeon Fighter Thread - IllegallySane - 2010-04-12 FelixTM Wrote:As for the build you posted, I would take points from Train and get max Wisp and Quick Rebound. I love max Train and am a huge supporter of it for Spirit builds, but it's not a vital skill. Quick Rebound is one of the most useful utility skills you can get. Plus it's so cheap. It's certainly fine the way it is, though. Just a couple things to consider. I realized that I still have level 5 Train, since I stopped there from the last time I was on my Summoner, so I can take that out and get level 19 Wisp. It's not 20, but 1 skill point shouldn't kill me. Thanks again for your insight on Zealous Creature; I'll definitely place SP into Wisp instead of leveling Lasher. As for Quick Rebound I may wait until everyone gets it for free, because I shouldn't expect myself to get hit. If I do, that's what Phase Shift is for. If I'm badly hurt, I tend to spam summon Naias until I get at least a potion's worth of HP back. Also, I have no intentions anytime soon on getting rid of Library. It's a great MP regen skill for me, especially once I get the Flower Ring so I have a level 7 Library. With my current regen equipment, I have a passive: Level based regen: 35 x 5 = 175 Elven Robe: 24 Sacred Staff: 27 Shadowtouched: 15 MP avatars: 30 Flare Skirt: 12 Shoulder Warmer: 30 Sky Tower Title: 15 328 MP/min. With Cloth Mastery that's 656 MP/min. With Ancient Library on top (168 MP/min) that's 824 MP/min. Wow, I never knew I had that much MP regen as a Mage. Regardless, I still need that extra MP from Library so I can spam summon all day long and do full clears without ever needing to take a break. Nothing feels good like being able to always have Freet, Louise, Glarine, Aqarius, Murker, Hulk, eventually Spirit King, and up to 7 Wisps trailing you all the time like a well oiled machine. My opinions for Library may change once I get the legacy rod and Scholar's Armguard. For me so far, there's no such thing as too much MP regen as long as my MP bar/ball is not 100% at the time I need to resummon. Nice, mine's somewhere around 600-700/min on my Soul Bender when using 2 24/min avatars (+9 from wearing 5 or more advanced), 24/min (Belmyre Star), 21/min (Felon Incubi Amice), and 24/min (Enchanted Elven Robe). <3 Cloth Mastery. Original General Dungeon Fighter Thread - ElectricSix - 2010-04-12 Shadow Trainer Wrote:I think I suck at playing this game because the quests that require me to get X amount of Style/Technique percentages doesn't even come close to the quota. Are those quests worth doing and if they are, do I have to do them ASAP? First I'd like to say that I sucked hardcore at the beginning as well. I burned through so many tokens when I tried to play anyone besides a priest, and even then I had problems doing quests just like you are now. So don't sweat it, you will get the hang of it eventually, and so long as you're soloing, no one knows when you screw up trying out something new. XD Kevin and DualReaver covered most of what you can try to do to earn better tech/style points, but they did leave out weapon selection and doubling your dungeon runs. Sometimes different weapons make it easier for you to earn style/tech points. It's probably not as noticable on a Priest, but on a gunner, the difference between a bowgun/autogun and revolver is pretty vast. It might not help much, but sometimes if you're just shy of making your goal by a few points, it can make a difference which weapon you have. Pretty sure axes and scythes are good for damage, and rosaries and croses are better for magical skills, but it's been a while since I've played my Priest chars. Anyway, the other option, if you're struggling to do both tech and style quests in one run, is to spend one run focusing on style, and the second one on tech points. Or vice-versa, it's up to you which one you'd rather do first. I had to do that for a long time til i started getting more familiar with each class. Some classes are easy to get style points on, some are easy to get tech points on. Personally I went tech first, then did style on the higher difficulty since it meant more hp and occasional misses which meant more juggling/combos than a normal run usually. I've gotten so I can usually clear both in one run, but some classes still require a double run for some of the dungeons. Hope that helps a bit, and if you really need help, I still have some noob chars around that can help with doing low lvl quests. Though I don't promise anything amazing as far as skill goes given that I solo 99.99% of the time. Original General Dungeon Fighter Thread - Jedward - 2010-04-12 FML. My 180 MP/min Exorcist cries for the MP regen he COULD have but can't make use of due to then dying too fast in dungeons. I is envious that you get away with caster level MP regen and tough heavy/plate armor level defenses thanks to Keiga. I figured I was semi right, but wasn't going to go log in to check. I normally would have just stayed lurking around this thread, but it wasn't that long ago that I had the same problem so I figured I'd throw in my two cents as well. Original General Dungeon Fighter Thread - MasPan - 2010-04-12 Infection Wrote:FML. That's still easily 10m. I've have killed you if it was a Heart Buster. Original General Dungeon Fighter Thread - Shadow Trainer - 2010-04-12 Okay so I just tried out PVP today by accident and I noticed I gain PVP exp. Can I level up from PVP experience alone and is it possible to make a character dedicated to PVP and not touch PVE one bit? Also I've found two builds on DFOsource: PVE: http://www.aradsociety.com/planner/?class=nenmaster#050:uIjuJbuLquMtuQgvGjvPkvRjwTlxDbxPd0Tb0Ub9Bk9Pb PVP: http://www.aradsociety.com/planner/?class=nenmaster#050:uCbuFjuIjuJfuLbuMtuPhuQfuRfuVbuXbvCbvFfvGjvLfvPfvRgwIbwTbxDbxEdxGbxJbxPd9Ab9Pb Both really don't make much sense to me because I'm only level 18 right now. I'm holding off on distributing points just yet. Original General Dungeon Fighter Thread - FelixTM - 2010-04-12 PvP Exp levels up your PvP Rank, not your level. I think you can get actual experience from special PvP matches, but it's an irrelevant amount. You could never possibly level off of PvP. Original General Dungeon Fighter Thread - mrcowcow - 2010-04-12 I actually did level off of PvP a while back on a level 1x nib that I've since deleted. You get actual experience from Team Deathmatch on that snowy mountain place, and I was getting around 1k exp per match. PvE builds focus on killing a large number of mobs with mostly retarded AI, meaning you don't have to worry about them running away from your fist. PvP builds focus on making use of skills to trap and combo an intelligent person between attacks in order to defeat them. You'll usually want to have a mix of the two, and a lot of skills work well in both. Original General Dungeon Fighter Thread - Shippo the Fox - 2010-04-12 Bixlow's Adventures! Fairies!
