DN Blog Wrote:Diving Attack: The boss will fly up the sky. When the boss HP is still high, after flying up the sky, it will start flapping its wings 3 times. After the 3rd flap, prepare to jump to avoid the ground attack. However, that’s not all. Several spikes will be created around the boss, so remember to use your tumble/blink to evade. You can jump to evade too. If you’re lucky, these spikes won’t hit you.

Alternatively, you can drive up your PC volume during the gameplay. When it is about to dive down, there will be a significant sound. Take a look at this video I found in youtube, I’m sure you can get what I mean.

*see below*

When the boss HP reaches 3 bars and below (to be confirmed), it will not dive down from the sky immediately after its flight. It will cast various Energy Balls to hit the ground. So please don’t blindly follow your team mates as you may die instantly from the attacks. Just move away from the balls. After this onslaught, it will flap its wings 3 times again before coming down.

When the Manticore has only 1 HP bar left, there will be some purple arrays shown on the ground before the Manticore decides to dive down, in which several flame demons will spawn and fly in some random direction. Just be careful not to get hit by them.

Alilatias Wrote:Yeah, that round is a [censored]. Thankfully my usual group is pretty good (I've cleared the whole thing 4 times out of my 8 attempts thus far).

Two important tips:
1: Watch the sky. Specifically watch for a Manticore jumping up, or a name tag of one at the very top of your screen (meaning there is one above your field of vision). When you see the Manticore lower its arms, that is when you have to jump to avoid the attack.
2: Take out the smaller Manticores first. They have less health, and you have to kill all of the Manticores anyways. Get everyone to focus on one at a time, if possible. The less Manticores there are on the field, the less damage everyone will take.

As for the Gerrant fight (dunno if anyone else here has gotten that far), it's an exercise in dodging. What I've noticed is that you want to stay behind him as much as possible, or failing that, stay close to him or his side. You don't want to be directly in front of him when you attack him, or else he'll counterattack with a quick sword beam.

He is most vulnerable when he uses his Dragon Flap skill, which is the one where he summons that wind followed by explosions further back. If you're directly in front of him when he tries to use it, tumble to his side or behind him. I can do it consistently even as a Priest.

(And if you happen to have any Priests in your party, tell them not to use Lightning Relic against Gerrant. Waste of MP, low damage, and he's likely to parry everything/randomly counter sword beam someone in the face.)

EDIT: I thought you guys were talking about Mezz. Evading the ground slam in Manticore Nest is... Eh. >_>

I was talking about Mezz Smile. It's like every time I see a Mant crash landing and avoid it, another one is coming down right behind it. And the big one has some nasty damage. I nearly lost all my HP to the spikes he shoots from his tail.

That's my favorite part during Mant runs. *uses block or sof* Biggrin

nice rusty gratz xD

also, word of advice: don't forget to get your 2 abyssal vails today, so that you can do 4 runs tomorrow, for the free manti helm and glove.

Is it difficult to get to stage 15 in the furious mezzanine? I have never done it before and I was hoping to get some free manti gear. Also, L> people in argenta/gerrant to help me do it Rolleyes. My IGN is Hoezilla Smile.

Soloing Mezzanine is incredibly annoying. It's possible, but it will obviously take a long time. Might as well grab someone else to help ease the workload.

Also, Velskud and Elena merge.

WAITING LINES.

Ahahaha... It's first two weeks of Open Beta all over again. T_T

considering me and kashimiya got to stage 20 on our first try, and duoing, it wasn't that bad, do you do your manticore runs with randoms btw?

Original Dragon Nest Thread - Kaasoljoyyx - 2012-02-23

Furious mezz stage 15 in a group of 4 should be very easy. If you got a healer/pally you should be able to get to 30+ if the group is competent and average/above

Original Dragon Nest Thread - DrRusty - 2012-02-23

I got to stage 23 on my first try solo, it's not hard to get to 15.

I usually run with my guild but if they are done with their runs I go with randoms, and thanks for the info on the furious mezzanine guys Smile

Apparently our nests reset, now I have to cram in all my runs tomorrow D:
Can somebody explain what a broken crit is?

Original Dragon Nest Thread - Flonne - 2012-02-25

Gold bunny just dropped me an epic guided missile plate, think I'm gonna throw that on my SS since I'm going hybrid with it.

The only people joining are the classes that are horrible at it; in every party I've been it its been all mystics with a spattering of swordsman and paladin.
