Help guys?

We've been sent a DMCA. To my knowledge they haven't. We are the enemy, Basilmarket is sunshine and daisies.

Basil has always been like that though..The community is so one sided on everything. Try to post something against Nexon and you'll get a fist to the face. Its like Hackers can do no wrong on their site, I mean I know the game has gone down hill since 05-06 but that doesn't mean it has to keep going that route.

All we can do is wait until Nexon is off of their "so called break" to see what they will do. All I wanted to do was get to 190 Frown

Hear hear. I was so close to level 200.

Basil is more like Hacker Market. Everyone says "It's not a hack, it's a WZ edit."

Now my friends are joining leeching/hacking parties rather than LHC-ing legitly with me. Feels bad, man.

I'm guessing that its just poor judgement from mods who don't look into the comments posted after a listing.

A thread with the .wz edit along with directions was posted and reached around 5/6 pages before it was finally removed.

My party was ksed out when we finally got a map and then the hacker stated he was giving away free leech (needed more players for party bonus).

One of our members then left to join him...
I can understand since he was on 2x and there was no guarantee of finding another map but it made me go on a break from training.

Now I just hunt grifeys/manons and wait for friends to recruit for boss runs.

FoolsLove Wrote:That's not why we have hackers though. Hackers appear in every MMO you can find all over the world. It's most likely done because of its convenience of leveling up and obtaining money/gear. Not because they're advertising in the wrong places, bringing in the wrong people. Where they advertise the game isn't going to change that MapleStory and every other MMO has always had hackers and always will.

Well, my post wasn't about the existence of hackers, but the community's response to them.

From my experiences with the other MMO's i've played, I have never encountered as much acceptance of hacking as i have here. Hackers are everywhere, but the overall response in this game's community, across all of its servers, (if not all, at least from my experiences on Zenith,El Nido, Khaini and a little bit of Windia and Scania) regarding them in this game is completely different. Lots more apathy.

A lot of people even in this thread say that hackers don't get the rejection they used to back in the older days when servers were few. One of the major things that's changed since then is MS's popularity, its only increased over the years.

MS community has even become politically correct with them. We don't call the people hacking our LHC maps hackers, that has too much negative vibe, let's call them 'glitchers'.

Familiar Hack - Onion Knight - 2012-01-01

Don't forget the "special" weapons LOL.

I prefer the term "script kiddie" though. Gracing these..."players" with the term "hacker" is an unwarranted compliment. I will continue to pour unreasonable scorn upon the "community" at large because they need to know that the way they think is wrong and condemnable, and reason seems to be lost on them.

I disagree.

The primary cause of the population's acceptance of hackers is not the size of the population. It's Nexon's attitude.
Sad fact of life is that most people obey the law only out of fear of punishment. When Maplers see that hackers get away with everything, they stop caring and decide to grab whatever they can for themselves.

Nexon is also to blame for changing the game. It used to be so grind-intensive that only the most masochistic stuck around more than 30 or 50 levels. Nexon has made it progressively easier, trying to appeal to a much broader audience - not non-gamers, but non-grinders. Lazy instant-gratification people, who used to be pushed to private servers, are on GMS now and are happy to use any "shortcut" to make it still easier and faster to "win", even when the win is a rather meaningless "level 200".

Yeah, this thread basically sums up why I'm playing KMS right now.

I actually do agree in that Nexon's inaction is ultimately the biggest reason. As well as with everything you said.

I still think mainstream exposure is a factor though, after all, some hackers are people who understand how games work, from a technical angle as well as the 'bigger picture'.Truly exploiting the game with awareness of the consequences for all other players. However, many casual players lining up for hacks, from what I've seen, sincerely can't comprehend the effects some hacks have on the community. Heck, some don't even comprehend the idea of a community itself.

When it comes to community issues in general, size seems to matter. WoW and LoL : you'll find a lot of blogs raving on crappy communities like we do here. Smaller ones do better in that respect. Dragonica remains my favorite gaming experience to date community wise, even though i was only around 3 months before THQ tanked. Forums were a mess due to the GMs not moderating though, ingame it was much better save for a guild rivalry or two.

At this point I kinda don't care anymore. These people got me from 130-145, and now I'm just gonna wait till they fix it so I can ToT properly.

And why do people insist on being called pro when they obviously leeched from 20-120? I don't even see people talk about it lol. I'm just happy I finally have a 14x character I enjoy.

Hi. People call me Waldo and I have three 4th job characters.

None of them are leeched from 20 to 120, none of them are hacked, glitched or hack-leeched.

This really would be the best course of action for MS too. Shut it down. Investigate. Patch the holes. Ban, ban, ban.

I hope it hits Maple hard where it hurts.

What's been going on in Mabi? I've not played it at all (mostly because I think I'm Eu IP banned). It wouldn't be horrible if this happened to MS, but I hope they're able to fix it without having to do so.
