Ask a Bowman Thread. - Kevvl - 2008-10-04 PKB is useful in 2nd job, but not by any means necessary. Blessing is useless in every way, but if you don't care about that, feel free =P Ask a Bowman Thread. - Cyanne - 2008-10-05 Is it totally useless after 2nd job though? I'm just wondering because I don't really want to have to key in another active skill and press the button to use it... it just seems so inconvenient because it doesn't automatically come out when getting into minimum range. Mortal blow sounds a lot better, so I'll probably max that in 3rd job. Ask a Bowman Thread. - Kevvl - 2008-10-05 MB doesn't KB at all for me yet, I still use PKB frequently, especially with the 70% KB rate. I always say that when MB gets a 71% KB rate for monsters, I'll take PKB off my keyboard, but for now, I'm keeping it. PKB is WAY better than blessing though ^^ Ask a Bowman Thread. - Technolink - 2008-10-05 Well obviously I don't use PKB at newts, although it is used obsessivley at squids, gobies, and gryphons. Bonefish move so slow >_> Ask a Bowman Thread. - Kevvl - 2008-10-05 It unstuns, but I still use it occaisionally to get rid of Nest Golems =P Ask a Bowman Thread. - LaLaaLove - 2008-10-05 Cyanne Wrote:Is it totally useless after 2nd job though? Hi Cindy ![]() In the olden days, I used PKB to finish off Zombies that got too close, but since 3rd job is now mostly either sniping or Raining now, it's lost a lot of its use. It's a shame, since it's such a fun skill. (3.1k damage on snails <3 I use it in HHG to gather Maple Leaves, so I'm KSing no more than a lvl 10 warrior ) It's not nearly reliable enough to push back a large mob, but it's not as if there's anything better to put your points in, especially if you go FA-less. If you feel it's useless after 2nd job, you can always de-key it. =) I've tried doing that, but I find I miss it too much...
Ask a Bowman Thread. - psychopat - 2008-10-05 I thought PKB gained a lot of use in third job but that's mostly because I'm a sniper. Freeze the large mob that's running up to you and then PKB if needed. No risk involved
Ask a Bowman Thread. - Worthyness - 2008-10-05 LOL i rarely ever use power knockback anymore (except for playing straw dummy pingpong =D) But i have a messed up 1st and 2nd job skill build. Seeing as it really doesn't matter anymore after 4th job, it shouldn't matter right? (10 ab(1st job one), 12 FA <<-- lol, 1 focus. No i don't have the NX to sp reset my stuff.) Ask a Bowman Thread. - Worthyness - 2008-10-12 Not a real double post, but i need to ask: I'll be reaching 4th job within the week. What is the optimum build for power for a bowmaster (assume all books can be worked 120-130)? What is the optimum build for power for the not so wealthy (i.e. only 10 se max)? What i am thinking: 120: 2se, 1 hurricane 121: 2se, 1 mastery 122: 2se, 1 dp 123:2se, phoenix (or hurricane) 124: 2se, hurricane? 125: depends if i get the mastery book. Thanks in advance. Ask a Bowman Thread. - GMSInfighter - 2008-10-12 Where should I train at around level 31-34 as a Xbowman. I have these equips. - 10atk WG - 20 DEX Sauna - 3dex Bamboo My range is about 48~330. You can also try Jr. Cactus if you find that you aren't killing the Royal Cactus efficiently. Psycho Jacks might also be worth looking into. Ask a Bowman Thread. - Technolink - 2008-10-12 PKB actually got a nice boost recently, and if you are a higher level then the mob they get pushed around quite easily. Bonefish and Squids for example are at least 80% success rate for me. As for a power BM build, remember that SE doesn't really give much more power after its first point, its just the timer after that. The power (depending on your stats) should be something along the lines of: 1 Hurricane 10 SE 30 mastery Hurricane SE Throw phoenix and DP in there whenever, above is just the general outline. Depending on your personal stats, mastery and hurricane may have some different advantages. I was doing math for a BM with 30 SE, 10 hurricane and 12 mastery. For him, maxing hurricane or mastery would yeild just about the same damage over time, so he went mastery since it helps his other skills too. Don't you kill them in a few hits? I know Stone Gollems work since Techno and I played for his lvl 100.
Ask a Bowman Thread. - Worthyness - 2008-10-13 it's always fun to play pingpong =P but i might deal a little too much damage, so i end up just bow whacking them into people =P You can always go higher level stuff where you risk dying? There should be a maple-wide archer pingpong day xD Ask a Bowman Thread. - Technolink - 2008-10-13 Haha yea =P Well Rice/WingZero, if Stone Gollems are Tennis, then the smaller straw dummies are ping pong =D So pig tennis should be finger flick football? Basil once had a gollem tennis tournament back in the old day. On Broa we had about 10 people, they made rules and everything. Like all other rule bound tournaments in maple, no one listened. Ask a Bowman Thread. - DjDisko - 2008-10-16 All right I checked Jack's guide to pwnage training as a ranger during the 8x period and, I still have a question. So all right I was going to go for a straight up strafe build with maxed hawk then go straight to Jr. Newties. I was super funded at the time so yea. Then I took a break and all my gear and meso just kinda up and vanished. None of my friends will admit to taking it which is kinda lame. But awe well stuff happens. So yea to continue so I changed up my build from strafe w/ Hawk to get arrow rain asap. Where would a good place for me to train be? My range is 875~1539. I am slowly getting new & pimp equips so yea it will increase. My skills at the moment are: Puppet:5, Hawk:5, Strafe: Max, Mortal Blow:5, & Arrow Rain: 1. I am at Squids at the moment "Dangerous Gorge 1" I think is the map. Are there any other possible maps I could go to that would work with my build? I have tried to goby & I didn't fare to well it takes me 10+ hits to kill them atm so that doesn't work. Any advice would be great.

Not to mention they'd have a larger level advantage on him than gobies, which would also hamper his ability to train there. Ask a Bowman Thread. - Beowolf - 2008-10-16 Technolink Wrote:KaidaTan prvoed the point, that's around what it would be. Concentrate would be active 1/3 of the time, thus averaging as 8.666 more attack, so figure the BM would be around 4% stronger after wdef. Ok, So I read all the post in this link before coming up with any questions, and this post seems to address one of my key issues. Is the 10 in this formula from Boost/Expert? If so I asume from the way its added up here that its cumulitve with pots, correct? Also where is this 14 coming from? Thanks Jason |
