I personally like the grass starter. I have a thing for smug looking bastards, and that grast starter is one smug looking motherfucker. Also glad the trainers are a bit more mature looking, female trainer looks closer to that image than I thought.
Here's to hoping the fire pig evolves into something with a type combination ho help its bulk (that it will most likely have).

I wonder what they'll change in the competitive scheme of things.
Gen 1: Introduced Pokemon. Duh.
Gen 2: Introduced Dark and Steel types.
Gen 3: Introduced Natures, revamped EV system.
Gen 4: Physical/Special Split.

I'd like to see EQ removed, and magnitude renamed to EQ. Giving everyone and their mother the strongest ground type attack in the game just raped Poison and Fire types. :[
Maybe a general revamp to adapt the game and Pokemon for the numbers we have now. Make it more like one group of circa 600 pokemon, not 5 layers of a cake added after the previous was finished.

1. Fire types needs moar raping.
2. Steel types get less raped. Which is bad.

Haha, I was actually about to look for images of the trainers in a bit. Artists move fast, so I'm sure there's something on them right now. Eating right now though, when I finish I'll look around.
Edit - WELL, THERE'S ALREADY RULE 34 ON THE WATER STARTER. It involves that thing in the middle, and how it'd use water gun.

/v/'s also dubbed the water starter "Wotter" or something like that. Smugleaf and Wotter sound like nice-sounding names that could catch on for now.
EDIT: Yeah, I've seen that one also Spidey. Yeah, I didn't even know it was a shell on the official art and thought it was a plantain because of the depth perception on that art. It became clearer that it was a shell when I was looking for fan art though. There's also some of grass starter and fire starter together. Haven't seen any on the characters so far, but that's because I browse Pixiv without the 18+ content, and I only see the 18+ stuff when I'm browsing English image sites- which don't have as much of the stuff that's being released on to Pixiv right now.
