My opinions
- No rising blast kinda sucks but it's preference
- I think it's level 13 glacial spike to get the best freeze chance
- Level 1 ice shield is pointless unless they banned fire shield but not ice shield

In ladder matches, anything goes. Ultis, all super armors, and any cheap trick you can think of. Hell, I even use life saver and it won me a match against a guild mate (he's the top rated ele on the server and he was pissed).

Doing pretty well on my first day of this character. Kinda going fast because of the level-up gifts. I want that extra storage/invo space
. Oh and the Approval Stamps. I have 2 epic sparks hanging out in storage ready for unbind. If only the Incomplete Approval Stamps were 100% chance of working.... So far soloing everything on Master goes really well. I'd try Abyss, but the jump from Master -> Abyss is pretty large.

Abyss isn't worth it in terms of experience. You only do abyss for epic sparks and crests.
@Rusty, whatever you say man lol. Just know that no one considers ladder to be an effective measure of skill due to equipment having an effect in the battle and using whatever cheap tactics that people would consider broken, giving people unfair advantages over other people. The real competitive PvP community would just look down on you if you resort to using blacklisted skills and armor effects to win.
But then again, this is the NA version of DN so no one actually cares and that rank is legit since it's in the game. I'm just rambling /o\.

I don't use blacklisted skills in normal PvP and no good player on Gerrant does. I wasn't going to put a point in there for normal PvP anyways. Ladder is fun for me because you actually get to go balls out and do everything you can to win.
if you're good at stacking ice damage, can elestra do the same damage as a pyro? I feel like the ice is more my style but I don't want to gymp myself by going ice.

Saurus has an indepth comparison on them, but i think fire beats out ice always. Ice can get close or beat out fire in certain situations but fire is "easy mode"

Fire has the overall DPS. Ice has burst DPS if the boss can actually get frozen and given the correct circumstances.
The video up there I posted is actually an ice route SELEANA.

yah I saw that the guy was ice which is pretty cool.
I need to look up that guy you're talking about. The biggest problem I see with going ice right now is that you still need hot rod because well.... it does a ton of fking damage lol and that keeps me from putting points into the ice stuff I want. I could pretty much make the same build, get high fireball, and only lose out on chilling mist by going fire.
I really want chilling mist though
. There's just no room for it in my build. I'll just keep leveling and practice with fire more. I just hit 24 like 30 minutes ago and I'm going to save my irine quest reset until I need it.
edit - Another problem going ice is that now you need ice AND fire % to keep your damage up. Since fire doesn't rely on ice for damage you just need to stack fire. Ice however still relies on fire damage.

Results:
-FD Seleana is faster clearing the New LM abyss in which the Bosses are immune to freeze.
-FD Elestra is faster in clearing Hell Bishop nest. (this will change if i replace the shield plate on my seleana w/burning hand)

Seleana (stable build)
dps skills: GW+GS →FB, Fire bird, Flame road, Inferno. and GS+lava roll
Pros: high burst dmg is very effective due to shortened Freeze duration.
-Burning hand helps to boost your dmg.
Cons: 2x freeze stack for FB, Fire bird.
-last hit of fire ulti is unlikely to benefit from 2x dmg...unless by some miracle the 2xINT prefix effect+ FF + GS 18% freeze rate all stack at the right timing,, when you are able to cast your Ulti... the odds of this happening is very low.
Elestra (fire elestra build)
DPS skills: GW+Injection＋GS → Flame road/Fire ulti.
Pros: Able to support party w/2x dmg at will, w/o having to worry about -ice resists.
-Flame road+Fire ulti is still very strong.
Cons: Not nearly as effective now that Ice barrier is useless.
-lose a lot of DPS by not having Burning hand passive.
-In a party the diff between 1.5~2.0x(seleana GW+GS) and 2.0~3.0x dmg (elestra GW+GS+injection+blizzard) is still big, but not as large as 1.5~2x and 4.0x dmg as it used to be.
so seleana is prolly better now that Elestra lost its 4.0x dmg boost party support ability..
There's more to his post but it's outdated information due to a nerf. I know know if DN NA has the nerf yet or not but if we don't, we'll have it pretty soon.

it says in that post that he recommends the ice shield crest on a saleana build. That's interesting. I guess it would make sense because as you're taking damage you have a chance to get the free 1.5x modifier

it's also much much easier to make gold on a populated server. Always has been. There's more noobs to buy stuff off of really cheap, and more people to buy your overpriced crap rofl. I remember in WoW when I server transferred from a low pop server to one of the most populated servers in the world. I was making gold so fast it made my head spin.
question - does ice resist reduction increase the duration of freezes?
question 2 - does the fire/ice shield crest "reduces hit damage by 20%" actually increase the damage reduction to 40% (at lvl2). Can someone explain the crests to me please?
