this is broken for cygnus since it only requires lvl 120 for rebirth, it's pretty ok for lvl 200 people since it actually takes some commitment to get to 200 to rebirth

JapanMS - Open-To-All Test Server; May 16th ~ 30th - ShinkuDragon - 2011-05-17

what baffles me the most is how dark knight->whatever has NO FREAKING DOWNSIDES, extra mastery, passive +35 w.attk, the obvious achilles and whatnot (jms) dark knight 4th job is one big set of buffs..

on the downside, third job is utterly useless basically.

You don't need to be 200 for a Non-Cygnus to Rebirth. It's 120 for all characters.

Not that it matters, because Cygnus can only rebirth into another Cygnus, which is absolutely pointless.

Polantaris Wrote:You don't need to be 200 for a Non-Cygnus to Rebirth. It's 120 for all characters.

Yeah, but it'd be pretty pointless to rebirth on a non-Cygnus character before level 180 or so, when you have all of your major skills maxed.

Yeah, but the point is, it's strongly recommended to get to 200 before rebirthing cause if you rebirth the second you hit 120, you lose all the 4th job skills you could have gotten from your previous job. Reaching level 200 guarantees you maximum Skill gain in which you can use for your rebirthed job.

JapanMS - Open-To-All Test Server; May 16th ~ 30th - MetaSeraphim - 2011-05-17

Along with HP/MP if that is one of your goals as well.

Ah, true. Forgot about keeping HP/MP. All that does is encourage HP washing even more lol

Yeah, but meanwhile there's bound to be skills you can't/won't use from your previous 4th job, especially since the belief is that you can't use previous classes' weapons. If that's true, then there's no need to get any skills you can't possibly use if you branch between class types. A Mage going Warrior(Random example) won't need to learn any skills that require a wand, since Warriors can't use Wands at all, therefore there's absolutely no reason to go to 200 to change, because half your skills won't mean anything and will have absolutely no effect anyway.

Wrong.
No mage skill that's worth a damn requires a staff / wand, except for BaM skills, which you can't rebirth out of anyways.
No warrior skill that's worth a damn requires a sword / axe / mace / spear / PA, except for WK/Paladin charges. maybe DK Buster / Fury, and possibly Hero Intrepid Slash.

There are plenty of skills that require a specific weapon and cannot be used without it. Not just Paladin's Charges. Unless it's suddenly changed, the majority of attack skills require the class' specific weapon to be able to use, and therefore bothering with those skills with the intention of just re-birthing is foolish. There's also a good amount of buffs that won't work without the class' specific weapon either.

JapanMS - Open-To-All Test Server; May 16th ~ 30th - Xiger - 2011-05-17

So to sum it up.

Basically it's just fusing two jobs into one character, where you have to change weapons to shift to one another.

Polantaris Wrote:There's also a good amount of buffs that won't work without the class' specific weapon either.

I find this generally false. Most of the buff skills that matter can be casted with any weapons.

Oh cool i guess.
If this ever comes to EMS i'll just turn my bishop into a new class.
Having magic guard and 30k+ mana on a new class is gonna make things fun.
Hmmm, i'm thinking of rebirthing into a paladin and level to 160+ for basic skills and such and not get achilles rush and warrior skills ( will have teleport anyway, lol ) and then get a hero instead.

Mhhh, or are you limited to only rebirth once?
Regardless, the mp and MG of a mage, the hp and surviveability of a paladin and the power of a hero. Yum yum.
Maybe drk too fast just for HB and dark force and beholder.

Yeah, you can only rebirth once, but for 10 dollars? No thanks.

Aw too bad, if you're going to break the game, JMS, do it with style.
Maybe just going to do bishop->F/P or bishop->drk.

Making my eventual UA pala into a hero then eventually if this ever reaches EMS, haha.
Can't wait to see if they really release it as it is into the real server.

JapanMS - Open-To-All Test Server; May 16th ~ 30th - JoeTang - 2011-05-17

It seems the overall best method of action is to make a Hero into another job that isn't a Magician since Advanced Combo Attack is the largest damage increase in the game, Paladins are fairly useless to rebirth unless you're going into a Hero to be able to use charges with ACA, and Berserk isn't anywhere near as strong as ACA, though Beholder gives a bit of a boost.

I'm interested in seeing whether going double magician, which is retarded by the way, would give double Elemental Amplification.
Either way, it appears Magicians don't provide any significant bonuses other than Magic Guard, since attacking spells are weapon blocked, and Teleport Mastery isn't a large increase in damage compared to stuff like Shadow Partner, Berserk, and ACA (unless it works with those, but still small compared to bigger fish).

The only other real feasible bonuses would be to grab Shadow Partner, Flash Jump, and the passives off a Night Lord/Shadower.

I presume Shadow Partner gets some ridiculously gigantic bonus from ACA and Berserk, where if you have them both on, Shadow Partner would get double the damage bonus like every other case an outside multiplier is added to it (see +total damage% potential).
i.e. normally, you would do 100% + 50%, but with Berserk it would be 160% + 128%, and 200% + 200% with ACA(FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU).

Bowmen sure do suck though. Only transferable skills are Critical Shot, and Expertise which likely do not work without their weapons, and Sharp Eyes that you can get from a party member anyways.

Doesn't matter, people only rebirth to certain classes for the buffing skills, not the attacking skills. Go check previous posts in this topic and you'll notice that people who would go from Thief -> Archer only care about Shadow Partner and Flash Jump, not TT, BS, BoT, Assassinate, etc. All people care about are the buffs that would make their next class insanely broken / OP, such as SP, SE, Combo / ACA, Berserk, etc.
Name one buffing skill that is limited by the weapon you wield, minus Paladin charges and weapon boosters, because I'm pretty sure there isn't.

Paladin charges and booster.

I already mentioned that, but I should've been clearer in my last post, cause it's rather contradictory when I put it that way lol

BRB EDITING THAT IN! Frown

THANKS FOR THE EASY 100M MESOS, NEXON! :3

1 stack of 100 crystals = 1m

If you go to Naomi in the event map and hold down your NPC Chat key, you get about 100 crystals in ~10 seconds and if you fill your inventory, easy 30m+ if you NPC the crystals. :3
